  1. I would move down to 2 for the 2 and their 1 next Year , That I think the Sharks might do , Dickenson is a pipe dream , Why would a Team needing Defense trade Their best young one .

  2. Is moving up one spot in which supposedly there isn't a clear #1, worth this much?

  3. Sharks trading to #1 in this draft is different from last year. Last year, Celebrini was far and away the best talent in the draft. This year, Schaefer and Misa are more like #1a and #1b. Misa will probably even be the more productive player…but Schaefer has more value due to being a D.

That being said, I don't think the Sharks would offer a "blow your socks off" package since the gap from #1 to #2 isn't that large. They would be more than happy to slot Misa behind Celebrini and have the best offense in the NHL for the next decade. Also the Sharks are going to want to trade from a position of depth (forwards) so Sam Dickinson is likely off the table.

My guess is a trade would look something like this:

    Sharks: #1 pick
Islanders: #2 pick, #30 pick (Dallas), + one of either Igor Chernyshov (LW) or Quentin Musty (LW)
    OR
Islanders: #2 pick + William Eklund + an additional first or second

  4. It’s gonna be huge overpayment if it does happen and I think a lot of people are gonna be suprised.

  5. This trade makes NO sense for either team. The Sharks need defense. The Isles, not so much. The Isles need scoring and a solid backup for Sorokin. I think there is little chance the Isles choose Schaefer anyway. As Mitch said, the book on him is thin, and we need scoring up front. If I were Darche, I would explore the 1st overall and Calum Ritchie for Celebrini. That fits our core window better than any fresh prospect in this draft.

  6. If Dickinson is that good, why would they trade him for Schaeffer? Unless he's not as good as Schaeffer. In which case, I wouldn't make the trade.

  7. It really makes no sense that the Sharks want Schaefer when both Dickinson and Schaefer both play on the left side of the ice! If they are interested in a right shot D I have one Dobson available for the second round pick! Darche had better stand firm and pick Schaefer number 1!

  8. I’ll stick with Misa and let him dominate. If Sharks are trying to improve why give up our nhl ready defenseman but Shaefer isn’t nhl ready. Isles can only dream.

  9. It doesn’t matter, of course teams are calling. I think it tells you all you need to know about Schaefer. Thanks for the interest good luck. I think this kid Schaefer is going to be much more than he is projected to be. Kids still growing probably ends up 6’4” 225lbs. I’m going on record he will be a bigger more rugged Cale Makar. When you watch Quinn Hughes or Cale they literally jump off the screen. They get the motor going and look out. This kid has those attributes just bigger. Thats why there will be endless rumors. Darche will probably sit down with the kid, and tell him you are coming to the Island. Matthew welcome aboard have Scotty or Pulock ride Shotgun for the kid. I would pair him with Scotty to keep the fleas away. Plus it makes use of Scotty’s skills. Pulock is a highly tradable player with term. You can get a good young forward prospect.

  10. Swap picks, Sharks add their #1 next season. Next years draft is much stronger than this one. I’m okay with Misa and next yrs first in return.

  11. you guys should be checking in on Chicago instead. SJ is not doing that trade especially when it just shows the Isle are interesting in Misa too. Dont complicate it, just take Misa and we'll take Schaefer.

  12. Dickinson is a nonstarter.. #2 pick and Musty… NYI leave the draft with Misa and Musty and maybe the #30 pick

  13. From the Sharks' perspective, the whole point of the trade would be to deal from an area of strength (forward) in order to shore their biggest weakness (defense). Including Dickinson in the trade would defeat the entire purpose of the trade.

  14. You guys are the worst islanders podcast you make us look like sissies, your bad covering the jets but this is the ultimate in ridiculous. You would have traded pot in and don’t say you wouldn’t

  15. Could the Shakes make a trade with Chicago for third pick first? Say an NHL ready player for the third pick. And then San Jose trades picks 2 & 3 to the Isles for the #1. So, Isles can get Misa and Hagens.

  16. Two comments:

    1. Sam Dickinson is not being included in any trade with the NY Islanders.
    2. The NY Islander new GM will make unrealistic demands for anyone trying to trade into their No. 1 pick, e.g., the Chicago Blackhawks, etc., No trades will occur between the No. 1 through No. 3 picks and the Islanders will draft Matthew Schaefer at No. 1. The San Jose Sharks will then discuss flipping the No. 2 and No. 3 picks with the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade that includes Chicago's pick at No. 25 and an above average defensive prospect other than Kevin Korchinski.

  17. Just FYI: Pagnotta is literally one of the worst clickbait hacks out there. He makes things up left and right. Stupid things.

  18. There is no universe where the sharks cut off their right arm to replace their left. Which is what trading Dickinson would accomplish.

  19. Sharks will not trade Dickinson , are building a championship team Let’s go Sharks 🏒🥅🦈🩵🖤🤍

  20. Thinking sharks would offer 2 AND Dickinson genuinely might be the most delusional I’ve ever seen a fanbase

  21. It's already been said here, I think it's unlikely Sharks trade away Dickenson. The other context I'll give as a Sharks fan is that we also really like Misa. The combo of Celebrini and Misa 1-2 at center would be insane. So while I think it's unlikely that a trade actually happens, it's fun to talk about – look at the number of comments you guys know what you're doing 😉

  22. my armchair gm mock trade idea – the hawks trade #3 overall, #25 overall, a future 2nd rd pick (maybe #62 overall), and l.brossoit to the islanders for #1 overall and a.lee.

  23. Remember, it has to be a boot load of a deal if they want the #1 pick. So yes they have to pay big time. Go ahead and knock off our socks.

  24. Sharks fans have to be laughing at us right now for even thinking we could get Dickinson and their 2nd pick for the rights to draft Schaefer. And could we please stop mentioning Hagens? If Darsche trades down to take him he should be fired the next day. It's either Schaefer or Misa, period.

  25. Why would SJ trade up for a player that islanders aren’t going to take? NYI taking Hagens, but I guess can’t stop you from rosterbaiting.

  26. Thinking there's even the smallest of chances both the 2nd overall pick AND Dickinson are included (especially this year where there's barely a difference between 1 and 2) is beyond delusion lmfao

The only reason we're even discussing a swap of 1 and 2 is because the Sharks need a dman, not because Schaefer is much better than Misa. They're very, very close.

  27. You’re dumb if you think you’re getting Dickinson. Like mental. You’re getting the second overall pick brother
