Depuis que les Devils du New Jersey ont repêché Luke Hughes, les fans des Canucks se sont inquiétés de Quinn Hughes en partant en agence libre pour rejoindre ses frères. Cependant, je suis ici pour répandre une certaine positivité. Je crois vraiment que Quinn Hughes sera re-signer à Vancouver. this team is just so cursed i dont see them ever winning. He'd be better off somewhere else to save his career.
Quinn will become the highest paid defence man in the league
This organization has failed him since he was drafted. For Hughes to commit another 4-5 years in van would be shocking. Think about it since 2018 they’ve played playoff hockey 2 times total and 1 season was the bubble playoffs. They got no legit prospects to help him in the long run, yes some nice pieces like willander, Lekkerimaki, D petey and Mancini but none of them can realistically help the Canucks in the 2 year window before Hughes contract expires. Demko is injury prone, and ep40 is a shell of himself. Canucks have done major holes in their top 6 they don’t just need a 2C they also need a number 1 scoring winger! Idk it just seems like the only way outta this is to trade Hughes and blow it up but who knows the narrative can change very easily if ep40 returns to himself, Demko stays healthy and they make a couple nice trades and signings in FA
I just hope they keep there picks and top prospect and find someone in FA or cheap who becomes a top 6
Also,To contend canucks need more game breakers up front
He is going to be ok with 3-4 years of pain for the first half of his contract to draft and develop good forwards.
Ah, Mr. The Blueline Hockey, you are simply just another dillusional homer. First of all, neither the Jersey Hughes nor Quinn are going to reveal anything to the public via media that Quinn wants to play with his brothers when he is currently the sitting captain here in Vancouver. Professional athletes are trained by their agents to never reveal anything to anyone other than the agents themselves. Similarly, the president and GM do their best to reveal as little about the behind the scenes. But our president is the one that revealled this desire for his captain to play with his brothers. Where there is smoke, there is high chance of a fire.
Second, those comments by Jack and Luke were made a year ago. A year ago, the Canucks looked like a legitimate competition for Edmonton in the Pacific. But that was a year ago, and a lot has happended since. In particular, the event that defines the end of this version of the Canucks is the JT Miller trade. JT Miller was the heart, spinal cord, and guts of the Vancouver Canucks. After 5+ seasons, he got tired of dragging them into the fight. By trading him, these boys lost there big brother and cannot beat teenager girls in a neighborhood fight.
Third, what rock are living under when you claim the Canucks will improve next season? There is a better chance of an asteroid landing on my front yard than the Canucks beating out LA, Vegas, Edmonton, Utah, Minnesota and Calgary for the final playoff spot. And let's not sleep on the Ducks and Blackhawks. You lost Boeser for nothing, the Petey trade rumours are ramping up again, and now it seems Demko is open to a trade. Yes, Hughes represented the entire offense last season, but there is nothing coming through the pipeline that immediately addresses their need for at least two top 6 forwards. Only $14 million in cap space, and you really think any premiere forward wants to sign in Vancouver with all the drama with Petey Miller and Boeser this past year?
This core group of Petey, Miller, Boeser, Quinn, Demko & Myers has been together since 2019-20, and that has only resulted in 2 playoff appearances in 6 seasons. If you are striving for more mediocrity, then by all means, Allvin should wait it out with Hughes. But, if you are aiming for the big picture goal of Vancouver one day winning the cup, the smart thing to do is to cut your losses and ship the remaining guys out than to hedge your bets on Hughes resigning because of a Petey & Canucks bounceback.
The metaphor of all metaphors is the fact that Canucks best players, including there captain, do not want to be Canucks. That is the most fittingly Canucky thing.
Not sure how Canucks fans don’t see that the window is closed for this team. It’s going to be a few years of 13th overall picks and missing the playoffs by 8 points. Hughes is better off demanding a trade now and getting them some more assets. To help maybe make it to 8th place in the West.
When you were trolling the Devils for 2:20 of this video, you failed to mention that they lost their best forward (who just happens to be one of Quinn Hughes's brothers) to a season ending shoulder injury with 20 games left in the regular season, which also means they lost him for all 5 playoff games against Carolina. Luke H had 72 points in 62 games, and sat at 7th highest in league scoring at the time of his injury.
It should also be noted that the Jack Hughes injury triggered a significant shift in the Devils approach at trade deadline. The knowledge of Hughes being out for the playoffs meant they were significantly less aggressive on rentals.
You also failed to mention that in the playoffs against Carolina, 4 of the Devils' top 6 defenseman missed games due to injuries. This included 4 games each missed by Luke Hughes (who just happens to be Quinn Hughes's other brother) & Brenden Dillon, plus 2 games each missed by Johnathan Kovacevic and Jonas Seigenthaler. For the 5th and final game against Carolina that was decided in double overtime, with all 4 of these players injured at the same time, the Devils had to play their #10 defenseman – a 21year old rookie that only played 14 previous games names Seamus Casey.
Yes, the comparison of the Canucks 90 points to the Devils 91 points without some semblence of context would leave one to think that the Canucks are comparable to the Devils. Despite Columbus making a late playoff push to close in on the Devils for the final playoff spot, the Devils had more or less secured their place in the playoffs with about 15 games left, and mostly mailed it in these last 15 games and tried to rest some guys with niggling injuries. The Canucks, on the other hand were giving it everything they had in the last 15 games to try to beat out Calgary and St Louis for the final spot.
So, in an alternative world where Vancouver won more overtime and shootout games to have more than the 91 points the Devils got, in another alternative world, the Devils had Jack Hughes and at least 5 of their 6 defenseman in the playoffs.
It might be wise to escape your cucoon in Vancouver and see the rest of the world before you give your opinions on the rest of the world.
The point of my rant against your pointless video is as follows. I'm 49 years old now, and I have seen the same song and dance for the Canucks for the last 45 years that I remember of the Canucks. And I'm sick and tired of it. I'm done with positivety. So it angers me when I see some rose-colored glasses gibberish about how good things are currently going in Vancouver. When it comes down to it, I don't care about Quinn Hughes, I don't about whether the Canucks are relatively better than the Devils or not, and I don't care about making the playoffs. I care about Stanley Cups, and I'm not quite sure if the owner of the Vancouver Canucks cares about Stanley Cups or profits. And as of right now, those guys in Northern Alberta are fighting for their 6th Stanley Cup, and all we have is 54 excuses.
baby canucks are a bright spot right now and should play a vital role in the big boy canucks success. i'm still not sold that quinn won't leave. you said that they will try to please and appease quinn when its time to renew the contract, well guess what, they tried that with toch and he still bounced. i hope he stays but if the canucks play below expectation in the next two years he's good as gone in my mind.
Great video, great take.
Thank you!! Another dude that feels the same way….I've been saying the same thing!
I really hope Hughes stays here. I believe in this team can go deep into the playoffs. Injuries tend to hold the team back. This team has top tier defense or potential top tier if it's to early but if willander plays decently this d core of Hughes, hronek, Markus pettersson, Elias pettersson, Myers, and callups from the ahl could help if someone gets hurt. I really think ep40 is a great player. I honestly don't understand how people are blind to his skill with the Puck is so easy to see. He's a 100 point player with good defensive plays. Demko, Hughes and petey could take this team far if injury isn't slowing them down
Look up Scott Niedermayer. Same situation
Finally, some sanity
Frankly, Quinn already has his legacy stapled deep into canucks. The team will retire his name and #43 if he retires today. If he captains the team to win the cup for the first time, it is pretty much guarantee that we will have a Quinn statue outside of the arena.
Luke Hughes would have such a disadvantage in his development if his brother Quinn showed up. There is only so much ice time and powerplay time and there is no team putting 2 left hand dman on the same line or powerplay. I highly doubt Quinn wants to force his little bro into a secondary role.
A little birdie told me that some of the more old-school suits for the Devils aren't sold on Luke and especially Jack because of their lack of physical toughness. This insider thinks it'd actually be easier for the canucks to get both Luke/Jack than it is for the devils to get Quinn…. get strapped in for the summer
Calgarys an amazing city with amazing people tbh. And the new arenas coming
You need to be in the media rooms interacting with the players and infusing some of this positive thinking.
More than anything, as a nucks fan, it’s frustrating to see the players get even more frustrated by the media personalities and their aggressive / negative line of questioning.
Winning and losing is part of any game, and there is always feedback and criticism after every game, but I miss the days when interacting with the media used to be fun (and funny)! Players used to have more fun, no? Or am I being delusional??
God I hate the Halloween/Plate of Spaghetti uniforms.
Go back the TV and Stick already!!!
Great video. Been watching your stuff and been really enjoying it. Good luck to 25k subs in '25!
love for hughs to stay as our captain! We do need to make some changes to get our spark back.
I hope this is right…
Nah he's gone.. why stay for a pathetic franchise like vancouver
That quote waa a year ago!! Looked what happened in that year.
Quotes said a year ago – were said under totally different circumstances. Even politically, the world is now enduring a different set of circumstances. The priority of getting family together may loom larger – but Quinn Hughes will not likely be signing longterm UNLESS his brothers, long term, might like what the future could hold for them & their families in a Canadian city.
So many factors will come into play, but what we do know is that this year will be extremely pivotal in the choices that Quinn Hughes, his brothers & other future free agents may be making. It may be hard for some to believe,…but money isn’t everything to everybody.
Canucks fans and the media are far too negative. Great video, some of it is hopium but most are facts. Indeed last year was a step backward but building a Cup contending team is rarely a straight trendline up.
good stuff. i like this content
I think Quinn Hughes is a damn fine young man with pride, self-respect and drive. He leads by example and if he was my son, I'd be mighty proud.
Thank you for the positive point of view!! It is refreshing to hear an educated opinion on the character of the players!
I've been saying exactly this for quite a while. Great video!
I would bet a lot of money Quinn is Devil in 2 years.
another crucial point that should be mentioned: if Quinn joins New Jersey, Luke is going to have to completely re-develop his game, to a style he's probably never played in his life. Wouldn't make much sense
What a lot of people seem to forget or conveniently leave out is when Hughes talked about playing with his brothers he’s was talking internationally and the media did media shit and misrepresented his statement to get clicks!
Great points and all valid. Time will tell.
I just hope the rumors ownership is thinking of selling are true.
cried during this, my canucks are back
Everything this year depends on Pettersson. If he can't play to the level of his contract the Nucks are cooked. Hopefully he comes into camp a lot more prepared and with less of an attitude problem. Anyone who doesn't get along with the Sedins is probably the problem.
IDK if we have a franchise goalie. If he can stay healthy he is a Vezina calibre goalie, but he cannot ever stay healthy. He also has an injury there is no fix for.
I just cannot be optimistic anymore after all these years. But of course I hope you are right.
I just hope that Hughes let ownership and management knows early of his decision, so we can prepare ahead. If Hughes is staying, yes we shouldn't rebuilt but just push for the playoffs every year.
But if Hughes is leaving, I see no reason to not totally rebuild. We can get Bedard here in a 3 way trade, then rebuilt a team around Bedard in 4 or 5 years. I like this because this is a relatively fast turn around plan.
Or just totally tank and hope God have mercy to let us draft McKenna, which is a scary move if you look at the Sharks, Sabres, etc. Getting McKenna or not is just pure luck, and Canucks is known for bad luck. We might be 10+ years into a rebuilt and still getting nowhere.
Oilers fan here… i cant see Hughes staying… after his contract is up, Canucks go into that rebuild ❤
This channel is better than all the other negative ones
👍👍
Love the positivity
Another Benchode get out of Canada
