  1. I'm good with it. Nelson between Chooch and Landy is just fine. Guarantee CMac has been on the phone with Toronto😉😉😉💪

  2. This year is kinda weak for good experience centers.. so signing Nelson is better than nothing.. and you are absolutely right, full season with “ Dog” and Blackwood in the net , could result in a great season from Nelson ❤️

  3. That forward group is super solid. Sure I would have hoped for a mil less, but we finally have a 2c for a few years straight. That's an amazing change. We outplayed the Stars in 6 out of 7 games in that series but for some reason couldn't close out the third period. Give this group a full year to gel and see what happens.

  4. shut up about mikWHO. Avs werent gonna overpay for that defensive liability.

Oh and when the Sharts needed scoring against the oilers, where was he? He disappeared after the 2nd round.

  5. I wanted the Gourd contract for him. Damn. But ok. 2C problem fixed finally… But now how do we extend Lindgren?

  6. over my dead body lol don't like that contract huge over pay but considering the market and cap increase and what they paid to get him Drew will just have to learn to live with it shouldn't effect JT at all

  7. Imagine trading Rantanaan and your 2 best prospects and picks for Coyle, Necas and Nelson……wtf were they thinking

  8. I liked the trade for Blackwood. I liked the extension they gave him. But the Rantanen trade was bad, the Lindgren trade was bad, the Coyle trade was bad, and the Nelson trade was especially bad. And now they're doubling down on it by giving Nelson way too much money.

The Islanders were in pretty rotten shape a few months ago. But then they fleeced Colorado in the Nelson trade and then they lucked into the first overall pick.

  9. Nelson's contract is a clear representative of the new cap… we lived with a stagnant deadcap for 4 years and people forget that it's projected to climb north 110M within 3 years. As for Tavares, he's sive a pj discount to TOR in my opinion.

  10. Love how Drew messes with Steve whenever he talks about the Avs. "U'd want Duchene back right?" Drew inserts Homer "Over my dead body clip

  11. Everyone who’s saying he didn’t show up in the playoffs obviously does t know hockey. There’s a lot more that goes into hockey than just scoring. If that’s the case every person who doesn’t score a goal every game did t show up for that game right? He’s better than middlestat that was a terrible trade. Hopefully necas will like it here and we can sign him for a decent contract same with makar

  12. I just want to point out that the Avs "not having a 3rd pair" isn't really accurate. Sam Malinski grew A LOT last season (granted, they still have to sign him) and Keaton Middleton is a great option as a 6/7/8 guy who can stay at home and break up plays with his 6'7" wingspan and generally just beat up dudes. He struggled a lot initially, but near the end of the season had really adjusted well to the NHL speed and found a way to be effective.

Are they the best 3rd pair in the NHL? Absolutely not. Are they the worst? Also no. Playing 10-15 minutes a night, the Avs could do a lot worse.

  13. They traded way too much for this guy that they had to overpay him to not look ridiculous. Two wrongs make it worse.

  14. Nelson had trouble adapting to the Avs. That was pretty obvious. A whole season and training camp will make a difference. We'll see what happens.
Sam Girard could go. He'd be easy to replace.

  15. They need to fix their D depth and hope Landeskog can stay healthy and Nichushkin can stay… Anyway, this team could easily return to the finals with a few breaks and a few under the radar additions.

  16. As an Avs fan, the AAV makes me nervous, but the cap is supposed to just keep climbing, and they can't keep the 2C hunt ongoing. I have no doubt that with a camp, pre-season, and a full season, he'll be great. I love the idea of him and Gabe (hopefully) gelling really, really well.

  17. I think AVS team will be good. The real change was that Bednar should have been fired. Bednar took no responsibility for being outcoached by DeBoer, and never used a single time-out during the playoffs, never once made any game-time changes, or changes to fix the Avalanche lines. Firing the assistant coach was such a pathetic excuse and a cop-out for Bednar.

  18. As an Avs fan I wasn't too thrilled with the signing at first, AAV at least a mil too high in my opinion. After marinating over it and seeing this take I feel a lot better about it. Nelson, a healthy Landy and motivated ChuChu could be the scariest 2nd line in the league if things gel.

  19. Avs fan, very happy to have Brock back and the position stable. I'm glad the trade of Ritchie wasn't for a rental… I'd have rather still had Naz and skipped all of this the last few years, but I'm not sure how that would have affected the last few years and what the rest of the team would have looked like.

Looking forward to a full year+ of Brock as this style of play grows on him.

  20. He’s been my favorite player in the league since he’s come into the league, it still feels weird to not see him in an islanders jersey, but hey, I’ve got a new second favorite team for the next 3 years

  21. How can you now Pay JT less than Brock. Even if team friendly would be slap in da face. JT your worth more than Brock. Go get what your worth ❤

  22. I'm stoked that we locked up Nelson. I was afraid of him walking after we gave up what we did for him. Like he said, we stopped the bleeding. I'm very optimistic about what a full season of this team will look like. I'm over Rantanen. Too bad it didn't work out but can't dwell on it.
