No man..keep Burns for another year at 2 Million..need the experince on the team ! 😎
This guy is a joke.
He says Aho is not a star. KK threw the last game. Now Burns must go. 🙄
Yeah 99 is gone to the dogs
I wouldn't mind Brent Burns coming back with the understanding that he would be a third-paring defenseman.
I wouldn’t drop a top line guy before pulling him back to the 3rd or 4th d pairing. That being said, burnsy needs a 2m contract with performance bonuses
Hate to break it to all the Burns haters, Burnsie is going nowhere unless he chooses
I get that if you're going to make a move for a top pairing D man, like let's say we call up Boston and move some stuff for Charlie McAvoy – Ok, Burns is just pushed out.
But right now, you're right side is Walker, Chatfield, and presumably Morrow. What if one of them gets hurt again? What if Morrow takes another full year to be a competent NHL defenseman? Why would you NOT bring back someone like Burns on a 1 year, 2m cup chasing deal? If next year is the year the window opens again, I'm not sure I want to rely on Morrow having a great season and being that top pair offensive man you can put next to Slavin, I'd rather have a guy like Burns still there so that if Morrow does show out, great, but if he doesn't you have a veteran who can do what's asked of the system.
And I will say there was entirely too much Burns hate this year. I know he had his moments of being quite bad in the regular season, but he evolved his game to adjust for losing the offensive upside and became really a very good defensive player for this team.
