This is a perfect example of a rookie GM and his stupid moves. Why sign Samuelsson before he even proved his qualities? Why hand out all this huge contracts to mediocre players instead of getting a solid goalie? I like GM Adams but he needs to go. Instead the Sabres hire assistant GM in Eric Staal who just wanted out of Buffalo as a player. This is turning into a shitshow. There is no hope for Buffalo. Pegula needs to hire a seasoned GM and stay the fk out of hockey operations.

Trade Samuelson for some hockey tape and some new pucks or wave him. If a team picks him up great. If not buy him out. He's an AHL defenseman at best. The Sabres gambled on Mattias and lost. Quinn? I'd give Quinn October and November of next season. If he's still inept and lethargic then admit the mistake and wave him. The Sabres whiffed on Samuelson and probably Quinn. If they're not helping the club cut your losses. Move on. The Buffalo Sabres need NHL players who hate to lose.
Watch Florida defense. Nobody gets into their goal crease, and they get cleared out as soon as they get close. Sabres ?
Bowen Byram for Ryan Pullock, Samuelson is fine just over paid by 1.5 million, next trade Jack Quinn for Keegan Kolesar, Rosen comes up from Amerks and so does Novikov, one free agent Jesse Puljujärvi.
I don't think that it's over for Matthias…… All he needs is one good system and one good season to turn it around
The issue with trading Samuelsson isn't the money, but the length of contract. If he had 1 or maybe even 2 years to go, they could probably unload him easily for a middling pick. But Joe here has now bought out him, plus Clifton, plus Skinner, plus Pegula is still paying Christian Ehrhoff. That would be over $6 mil in cap hits then for this year and about $7 mil next year on a team with its own personal salary cap, plus all the real money Terry would be paying out to these guys. This is why Byram and Peterka are on the block the way that they are. I'd call the Sabres the Pittsburgh Pirates, but even the Pirates don't give their bench and fringe players ridiculous contracts.

One more time. Sign Bo long term if you can. Then trade the 6’7” poo say youll not only get moe for Powers, but we get the better defenseman. If Bo wont sign then find you have to trade. Now JJ we have 3 scorers everybody talks about a top six forward so trade JJ now we need two. Makes ZERO sense. Lets talk trading fir a top 6 forward. You have Powers Quinn Samuelson should-be able to get one hell of a top line player for them.

What doesn't make sense to me is why Kevyn Adams traded for Byrum in the first place then in turn is going to trade him away? Its seems like a bad GM decision on Adam's part if that is indeed the case. Or if they do decide to trade him which everyone in every corner is suggesting then getting something with equal value in return has to happen.
