Scoring (especially PP scoring) is the biggest stumbling block. Defense needs to be better—sure. But hands down, the Canes need more scoring oomph. And whomever they might acquire to fill that scoring void needs to be bigger than 5’11” 195lbs soaking wet, and strong enough to ward off being pushed and shoved around by big defensemen !!!!!!!!
But without a doubt, the only thing that will allow the Canes to compete against bigger stronger (read: chippier/dirtier) teams, is if the Canes can make ‘em pay when then start swinging elbows and fists and sticks around !!!!
