#nhl #ChicagoBlackHawks #NHLDRAFT #antonfrondell

  1. Too me Frondell is in that mix of 6 or 7 guys, but I agree with Jay, it seems like hes more a high floor, a bit lower ceiling than the others, if they have him at the same level as a few of the other guys, trade down to 5-9 and get something else good, and take Frondell, Desnoyers, Mrtka, McQueen, Martin or O'Brien

  2. Just take hagens and now you have an actually useful trade chip. 3 years of drafts and the hawks still have no high trade value prospects

  3. Hagens or Martone at 3 for me personally. We need a high end pass first type of player not another shooter like Frondell. I also don’t think he’s a center in the nhl.

  4. Jay, your take on Frondell perfectly describes my feelings about him.

If the Hawks draft him, I will like him and will be hopeful that he can develop into a 1st line C to pair w/ Bedsy on the wing. That being said if he only ends up being a solid, 2 way, bottom 6 center, (which is very much on the table) that would be a highly inefficient use of draft capital.

Hagens or Martone have the highest ceilings at 3 and KD should be selecting one of those two players.

Lastly, being NHL ready should not be any sort of determining factor for who they should take. Each prospect should be developed in whichever manner is best suited for them and each of their situations.

  5. If Hagens was an inch taller this wouldn't even be a discussion. To call him undersized is annoying. He can fly like Nazar/Moore, has a sick shot, but looks to distribute first. He's solid defensively and is what this team is lacking. Pair him with Bedard and a maybe Vanaker in couple seasons.

  6. If the draft goes, 1. Schaefer 2. Misa. Then the Hawks should take Hagens with the # 3 PICK. With the 25th pick, the Hawks can take a big winger. And the trade #34 and #62 to either Washington or Carolina, and draft another big body forward.

  7. First, I don’t think this is our last bite at the top of the draft apple 🍎 so to speak- it shouldn’t be at least. Positioning ourselves to have a shot at McKenna is what’s best for the org. That being said, I agree with Jay. You can’t take a Slaggert type at 3, go big or go home. I would rather see Hagens, Martone or even Desnoyers before Frondell. But knowing Kyle, he’s got his eye on the player that will make the most possible Blackhawks fans roll their eyes. Kyle has to be the smartest in the room, he sees what no one else does, he’s the genius

  8. BIG scoring upside, Jay..is Hagens or Martone ! this is not the time to reach… you can at #25

  9. Frondell needs to be the pick if Misa and Schaefer are gone. I'm not sure if everyone understands how impressive 25 points in 29 games is in the J20 at 18 years old. Hagens barely averaged better and he was playing on the most overpowered line in all of college hockey.

Watch him play a full game and you won't see him disappear. He's the guy that is working in the corners to create those chances for the team. Blackhawks last year could never get any zone time because we lose 50/50 battles all game. Put him with Bedard and you have a guy who can best finish Bedards great passes, and also win the puck back to get Bedard more time with the puck.

Frondell has a higher floor AND a higher ceiling than Martone or Hagens.

  10. With how Sasha Boisvert is progressing, I don’t think we need Frondell.

Hagens I think has the highest ceiling, and is going to rip up the NCAA next year. He’s taller than Marchand if that helps, height certainly hasn’t stopped his success.
