The problem is that Canadian markets, despite being where hockey is most popular, they are a bunch of cry babies who don't understand the physicality and act as gatekeepers to the game. The reason why USA chants go up is as a response to the booing of the American anthem, because smaller markets are repeatedly told they don't deserve a team and they should be relocated and because of the constant stream of excuses as to why the championships earned by the players of those markets shouldn't count. When the Panthers were unwatchable from 2001 – 2018, no one was crying about the taxes – now that Florida has two good teams, it becomes the bedrock of Canadian excuses; and the reason why I say Canadian excuses is because Canadian media members such as TSN, and Paul Bissonette are some of the loudest champions of that narrative without taking into account features such as cost of living, the USD to CAD exchange rate and the sponsorships that Canadian players enjoy that are not as present in smaller markets like Florida or Dallas.
This is all a long winded way of saying that Canadian's need to cope less and stop feeding into teams that have ownership groups that don't care whether they win or lose because the profits they make are going to be massive no matter what – i.e. the yacht club.

It's funny it's either Bettmen, now it's taxes, officials, maybe just maybe that 30 year drought and 67 for the leafs is a you problem Canada. The thing is you can never really count out the oilers. The issue for the oilers is A) lack of disapline, B) hyman out. Last year edmonton won 3 straight…however hyman was the player really coming in clutch. Right now the clutch player is…..perry. not gunna work out well for you
