@Jets de Winnipeg

CŒUR. GRINCER. GLOIRE. Les Jets de Winnipeg remportent le double thriller OT sur le blues pour avancer dans les éliminatoires de la LNH!

Quoi. A. Game. 👇 Déposez vos « GO Jets Go! » Dans les commentaires, et n’oubliez pas de vous abonner à la couverture complète des séries éliminatoires, des faits saillants et des réactions de la LNH! 1. I won't lie… It took me a while to stop cursing my Blues' inability to defend 6-on-5 and the nonstop icing of the puck. They just couldn't play their game for a full 59 minutes and 57 seconds. With that said, I gotta give kudos to the Jets, their fans, and for folks like you who are die hard supporters of their team. I've been there, supporting a small market team for decades with so much disappointment. I think it's OK to treat it (briefly) like winning the cup, but the work is far from over. I hope the Jets can take out the Stars and keep on going.

  2. As a Winnipegger and a #1 jet fan (don't we all) you made me feel more proud. I am PROUD of our city and our Jets so everyone else can take a hike WE ARE WINNIPEG! WE ARE THE WPG JETS!

  3. Well that hurt.
But what a series. Proud of the Blues for what they did this season.
Now that we're out of it, I'm pulling for Hellebuyck to get his mojo back and the Jets to go all the way.

  4. Blues fan wishing the jets the best. The jets did need it more than the blues. Hope 44 and 55 return as the stars get back 4 and 21. I just like seeing the best players perform on the biggest stage. And it would be a shame if any of those players were missing

  5. Honestly happy for the Jets! A very likeable group of players, putting up entertaining games. And happy the Bloos got bounced (no I'm not a salty Avs fan, not at all)!

  6. The Jets could barely beat the 8th seed wildcard team, the other team had nothing going until their ltir addition scored a hattie for them. The jets and the stars should have been eliminated, they both looked terrible.

  7. I am a blues fan, and I want to congratulate the Winnipeg Jets for winning the game and the series in this gut wrenching game 7. The Jets and their fans are a classy organization, and I wish you the best going forward.Let me say this, though from the bottom of my heart I believe that the blues were in control for much of this game and it was the the blues that lost the game for themselves with a self-inflicted wound of deciding to stop skating in the latter part of the third period and start flipping pucks out of their zone, allowing Winnipeg to come at them time and time again. The blues have been in these spots before and every single time they play prevent defense. It only prevents themselves from winning. This loss was on Montgomery for not recognizing that and bringing it to their attention so they would cease playing on their heels and start skating on their toes again. The blues had chances to skate some pucks out of their zone and they decided to flip the puck out instead thinking they didn’t need any more offense. They allowed Winnipeg and their fans to get back in the game and seize back all the momentum. I have to give Winnipeg credit for never giving up and taking advantage of the blues blunders.

  8. I’ll never have sympathy for Schiefele after that gutless hit on Evans. I’ve hated Montreal for over 50 years, and they had just beaten my Leafs. But that hit was so bullshit that I will never care about what happens to Schieflele from similar bad hits, and Schen’s hit wasn’t nearly as fragrantly dangerous.

Good game, though. When the puck was still in the corner at around 10 seconds left, I thought “Well, that’s that.” And then on the shot whiff, I thought “well, now it’s really over.”

When the puck went into the net, I was like “Wait, did that beat the buzzer?” Then I look at the clock in the top left corner, “No buzzer?! 1.6 seconds left?! How is that even possible?!”😂

Sometimes I forget how little time hockey needs for something big to happen.🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. Hate to see the Blues get bounced, but somebody obviously sold their soul for a Stars/Jets matchup.🤣 I am happy the Jets got the monkey off their back and hope this sets them on a path to the cup. Can't wait to see what this young Blues club can do with a full season of Monty at the helm. I would certainly like to see an improvement to their 6 on 5 play.

Thank you for the top tier analysis. Went to subscribe and realized I already had.

  10. The number 1.6 will go down in not only wpg jets history but Winnipeg history as well, people will know and remember what that number represents for generations on and on! I am so happy to be able to say that I was there seen it in person up close greatest moment of my life

  11. Congrats Jets fans. That was a game we won’t ever forget and you guys climbed to the mountain top and planted that flag- I hope you guys go all the way. This IS your year. Let’s go!! ✊🏽✈️

  12. Your coverage is so balanced man! You are plain amazing – objective, dig into details and above all a guy who has a natural affinity to draw folks in once they hear you the first time. Yes, am one of those first time fans of you and am all in, thanks bud

  13. I like you bro and have subscribed, Maybe not so much like today, but you do a great break down. It will be interesting to see how the Jets respond. They have been through the fire thanks to the Blues. It will be interesting to see if they are hardened. I still have real doubts about your goalie

  14. Great summary! I respect all your views and opinions! Thanks for great Content and keep em coming!

  15. author of THE DEATH TAX and diehard Blues fan says: Let's get a couple of things you said in an otherwise excellent post out of the way 1st: Touting the notion of "hitting them before they hit you" (w/ intent to injure, even, as if this is OK: intent to injure, even in retaliation, is NEVER OK) while suggesting this is hockey at its "highest level." Such statements are LUDICROUS, and I suspect you'd take them back–or at least amend them–if you could. Must admit I WAS NOT aware Morrissey sustained a concussion; our announcers were under the impression it was a shoulder injury.

That being said, I've recovered enough from my heartbreak and, yes, FRUSTRATION–the tying goal w/ 1.6 secs left, missing a good chance for an empty netter? gimme a break!–to give credit where credit is due. Kudos to the Jets/Hellebuyck for getting the monkey that had grown to gorilla size off its back w/ a truly gutsy performance all the way to the end, esp. given Morrissey's absence after the 1st pd. Perfetti was the best player on the ice, probably followed by Lowry. It seems the Jets wanted–indeed, NEEDED–this one more, and played like a desperate, hungry, balls-to-the-wall team. Once again the Blues were unable to play a full 60 (in this case 60-plus) or steal one on the rd., something any team worth its salt MUST do if it expects to win The Cup (the '19 Blues were true rd. warriors, tying an NHL record w/ TEN rd. wins).

Must say I was SICK TO DEATH of all the Hellebuyck bashing and Binnington touting our broadcasting crew was guilty of throughout this series, fearing the jinx that finally occurred as CH found his game and JB was ultimately solved by net-front chaos, a concept the Blues have yet to fully grasp in addition to shooting instead of passing: flaws in their game that ultimately proved fatal in Game 7. Kudos to the Jets for outshooting, outhitting, and outplaying us in spite of adversity. They DESERVED this win.

  16. Anyone who has watched the Blues for years knows we are no stranger to heartbreak in the playoffs, but man this one hurt extra hard. I've been saying it all year though, we've been unable to hit an empty net and let in too many goals with under 30 seconds left. Not a problem we addressed unfortunately.

Such a fun series though, and the Jets were killer. Gave our young guys a lot of valuable experience, so it might not be a win today, but it will pay off for us going forward. Hope Helly keeps up the way he played in OT and they go out there and crush Dallas.

  17. Blues fan here…congrats to the Jets. What a series. I’ll be pulling for them now. This Blues team is loaded with young talent and didn’t do too bad for a team finally out of a retool. The Central division is a killer.

  18. Devastated as a Blues fan. 6 on 5 was our weakness all year and it cost us when it mattered the most. Congrats to the Jets on a hard fought win.

  19. Hellebuyck and Schenn pulled off 180 degree turn and were the biggest Stars in game 7.
Montgomery had a full serving of justice put on his plate. After instructing his players to target Winnipeg Jets 2 star players Divine INTERVENTION played a role in one of the most amazing come backs in the history of hockey. 1.6 seconds away from being eliminated the Jets rose from the ashes of ABRAHAM'S BURNING BUSH. How else could this be explained?

  20. I cannot believe how the Blues managed to do everything exactly wrong in the last 3 mins of regulation

  21. Not quite 24 hours later still stunned and in disbelief my beloved Blues won’t be playing any more hockey after have a two goal lead with under 2:00 remaining.

Much respect to the Jets and their fans. Ripped our hearts out with class. Enjoyed the Jets fans I met at Game 4 and thankful to find this channel.

Hardest trophy to win in sports. Nobody deserved to lose, but someone had to.

  22. Everyone was feeling bad for the Jets having to face the Blues in the first round. I would argue they were the perfect crucible of adversity the Jets needed to bring out a champion's mentality. Go Jets go.

    💙 from a Blues fan.

  23. You’re awesome dude. Great content provider ❤ Lifelong Blues fan. You’re helping me overcome my gut wreck broken hearted sadness

  24. Unbelievable breakdown!! Honestly did not even notice Samberg (complimentary). But I almost want to watch this game again to see what you saw. Also thought the same thing, thank god Broberg’s (I think) stick blew up or else Perfetti might’ve lost his head. Loved loved LOVED the intensity though!

  25. I grow weary of the whole "8th seed" narrative.
The Blues had the best record during the last 3 months of the season. It's not like they were chumps who backed into the pist season; they've been the hottest and best team in the NHL the last 3 months.

Defeating the Blues was no small achievement.

  26. While Hellebuyck had a rotten start (and a pretty mediocre series overall), during the 3rd period and the two OT periods – Hellebuyck looked like he finally found himself.

  27. 1:39 correction:
Winnipeg is cold and isolated from other major urban population, yes.
However we are not built on a tundra, as tundra is defined by a location where the soil structure is permafrost, only possible thousands of kilometers north in the Canadian territories.
Winnipeg is also not located on the Canadian Shield, but geologically is planted firmly in the Great Plains. You need to be as far east as Steinbach to begin seeing traces of the Shield, and it takes another 80 kms before it begins exposing where the glaciers stripped the landscape.
Being so close, along with being a transportation hub city, Winnipeg has always been closely connected to the Shield. The city has deep ties with communities in northern Ontario and the territories, and there's a large market for Winnipegers that have cabins and summer homes.
    Lesson learnt

  28. As crushed as I was in the moment as a blues fan, the jets gifted the fans in STL and Winnipeg with one of… if not THE best playoff comeback in history. I know it’s one of the greatest games I’ve witnessed in real time. I find myself excited to follow the jets through this next series with Dallas.
Love what you’re doing my guy, thanks for the honest coverage. I hope the jets continue to build on their momentum 🤘

  29. everyone talking about this being only the 3rd time a team came back from 2+ down in a game 7 3rd period.
well … i was a young hawsks fan growing up in winnipeg, watching game 7 of the FINAL when the hawks were the team on the wrong side of the amazing comeback — and at the time the hawks had the best goalie in league, probably second-best in the world.
