I think Detroit's future right side D is probably is set in a few years with Seider, ASP, Anton Johansson! Ekblad could be a real liability and is looking to cash in.

I think I’m okay making moves for 1-year deals and teeing up next offseason. They’ll probably have a top-10 pick to trade too. None of these free agents are going to look good by year 4 of the contract.

The Ekblad PEDs suspension should be a huge red flag. I’d rather see the front office make a trade over signing UFAs.

Detroit isn't landing any big names unless the hometown advantage is in play for said names; but the big names are gonna force other players to be pushed off of rosters and that's the guys you need to consider going after if it's for the right price even WI the cap going up. You could wave 15 mil at Marner and he still wouldn't come to Detroit.
