I understand negotiations. I don’t understand why, as it seems, the Dobson camp would make the first move. Yes, while the salary cap is going up, it has no impact on the value of the dollar. I can only believe that, by seemingly making the first move, the Dobson camp wants to force a trade. It doesn’t seem that the Islanders made an offer, then the Dobson camp countered. It seems the Dobson camp initiated. So, with all this, there are many reasons why I would trade Dobson. Not the least of which is that by the time this team is almost good, he’s too close to 30. Despite what Darche has said, I think this team is primed for a rebuild, and they’d be wise to go headlong into it.
