Buying out Perron would make no sense. If you do need to move him for cap or roster space, he still has enough value that you could get a draft pick or a prospect back for him in a trade.
Not sure if they should go the buyout route. The issue with buyouts is you end up paying the salary but scattered. Hell, we're still paying almost a million for Colin White for another 3 years. And we have a salary of 1 million retained on Korpisalo. You either trade or wait for the cap to go away. Right now, I don't see a lot of players that should be bought out. Perron has 1 year left and you don't want to tie your hands with a multi-year buy back that could be nearly a million for another 3 years.
Decide what to do with Perron after a decision is made on Giroux?!? If G walks keeping Perron would be a good idea.
You can keep Perron and make a move at the trade deadline assuming no major injuries that would allow him to slide in to a top 4 role
Id sooner keep Perron than Giroux
Yeah I would say you don’t buyout Perron. I know it’s business but it would look really bad. And I wouldn’t want to give up any assets in a trade unless you are confident you can fill that cap space. Plus injury depth will be crucial
We don't need to buy anyone out. Perron only has 1 year left anyway and it's not like we're top contenders. The better move would be to move money out via trade (2 players + a pick to a team with cap space for an upgrade type of deal).

I like Perron's game, once he got going last season. I don't love his contract and I wish it was half of what it is but Perron is the exact type of player you would trade for at the deadline so why not just keep him. I like his game more than Giroux's as it's more rounded where G wins face offs and occasionally chips in on goals. Sogaard isn't playing in the NHL next season so hopefully he clears waivers and get to Belleville
Perron is the player you need come playoff time. I understand it's hard to see where he fits in the lineup but I think he's a great player and it would suck if it came down to buying him out
