Bullseyes, spacek needs to play his tail off at worlds and spring training either into a roste spot or to be easier to trade otherwise hes lookin at iowa til hes an rfa n doesnt get tendered.
I agree, and with Boldy, Faber, and Rossi, you have 8 players 25 or under who SHOULD be the cornerstone of this franchise. This is not a franchise which should be in “win now” mode, but rather should be like Dallas, build always, win because you built the foundation.
Question about Wallstedt… Could Sam Hlavaj come up in his place? He's going to be pushing him hard and Sam has performed unbelievably at the world championships
Excellent positive video, the question will be who and how many play their waybinto the roster or a valuable trade piece. Worlds and camp will be massive for the top 5 prospects and other to build up for the future likely 2026-27 camp

34:09 but how does that happen when they sit the pine or absorb blame for the shortcomings of the "veteran" You play Carcus Johansson all year and this "top 6" guy scores like half as many goals as both Rossi in both years and Freddy Guadreau who's skills top out in middle 6. I am not seeing where Liam Ohgren has the chance to develop but sits in Iowa skating circles around B squad but not testing and going against top 6 skills so he develops. I don't see that as developmental…seems more like grooming so a "tournament team" can take him. We never see the kids get up to play because developing is outside the coaching ability, not the player's limits…
It’s getting to the point where the prospects are getting antsy. It’s understood – Spacek, Lambos, Masters, O’Rourke, Peart all wanting ice time with only 7 spots available. If Pionk (UMD) develops into anything resembling his brother, dang. These guys are perfect trade assets for a big time FA. We have another potential Spurgeon in Kiviharju down the road so the blue line is backlogged. Forwards are a mess until this summer, then the Guerin plan should be visible.
Bogosian has to be moved. Then you have the 4 vets… Faber, Brodin, Middleton, Spurgeon, training the three rookie studs on a rotation into the line up. Buium, Jiricek, Spacek and in the future with more coming down the road. Hire another coach and get them up to speed quickly. They will be great trade chips for wild Bill to play with down the road. Building that foundation as it comes to you rather than forcing situations on talent.
People have to realize that only a minority of our prospects will ever play for the big club. You've got to trust the Wild coaches and talent judgements regarding these prospects through the development process
Stramel signing his ELC next spring with the Wild is a Wildcard…all he has to do is wait until mid-August to become a UFA and then can sign with any team that will give him the best shot at a NHL lineup, not sure that's the Wild….
