why would leafs fans want tavares back. hes soft not a playoff type player he willingly gave up the captaincy at 32 years old no player with any heart does that. not to mention hes a 16 year vet who was as tight as a 21 year old rookie n game 7 he should be the one calming the young guys down before a huge game. its time for him to go

I don't remember a game with no penalties. SportsNet showed the Edmonton player take a high stick behind the net no penalty. So get rid of the refs and just use lines men they are the ones who do all the work anyway. Plus this two rule book system one for regular season and one for playoffs. Try explaining this to a young person trying to learn the game. So F up league
Let me preface this by saying I like the guy and he’s a great player. The thing that bothers me about Marner is that he has an A on his jersey. I believe that being a good leader requires accountability. He’s not just any old player, when you’re great people expect greatness. If he can’t handle the heat & criticism then I don’t think he deserves a leadership role.

I don’t understand why people say that the Leafs have all the leverage when it comes to signing JT. He is UFA and he will get offers from other teams. I get that he wants to stay in Toronto but probably it if it means taking a pay cut of 4-5 mil per year, let’s be realistic. I think he will end up signing something longer term for around 6.5-7mil. I don’t like that for the Leafs but there is absolutely no alternative here. The centres in FA suck this year and they have basically no chips left to make a significant trade.
Marner has played 20 games in games 5 thru 7 and has 6 points, thats 1 reason fans are pissed the other is he was paid by fans for his 11 mil salary and has given them nothing, if i paid for those tickets i would be pissed 2 play-off tickets arent cheap.another is his crybaby attitude. go away we can spend that money on 2 play off type players.

Don’t care what Mathew’s and rest of team say, you play better with your starter playing in front of you, not your backup… yes Woll is the Backup! As far as Marner, adding total points and adding +~ Marner and BIG Willie were tied but Marner plays in Many situations. Even with Stolarz out, the other main difference between Leafs and Florida aren’t the top 6 but the bottom 6!!! Florida has players Marchand & Bennet, Leafs have Jarnkrok and Holmberg who NEVER SCORE. Don’t replace your best player… Marner, Replace Jarnkrok and Holmberg and start giving Stolarz some milk!!!

Why should Nylander be hated? #88 was making 6.9Million and Marner made 10.93 Million on 2nd contract, Nylander produces in the playoffs and Marner is a ghost when games matter. 3rd contract Nylander signed for 11 Million for 8 years and Marner wants 14-16 Million and a 4-5 year contract.

TML fans need to stop with the "we were the 2nd best team because we took Florida to 7 games". According to this logic, the Red Wings in 2013 were the second best team because they were the only team to take the Hawks to 7 games.
who out of the big five would make the florida team? who would be welcomed? who would fit in playing and grit wise? Nylander, MAYBE, but NO. none.
and don't forget when maurice TORE a STRIP out of that florida team three years ago when they barely made the playoffs. from there, the team took up the mantle and are unstoppable. who took a strip out of our core 5? nobody. end of story.
