Trading up to 4th is absolutely useless.
Smells like a suckers bet
How about no? Lol by all the projections moving from 6 to 4 does not guarantee a large increase in skill level or that the players going to work out. And if Utah is smart they're going to take as much as they can possibly get from any team willing to make that trade. And when the draft as a whole is a giant exercising gambling, I rather have as many shots at the dart board as I can ie as many first round draft picks. So let's not go moving a bunch of draft capital and assets for what is most likely a minimal return.
At 6 we will get a center, will it be the ideal one. 50/50 on that. Trading up would probably cost a current player like York, upcoming AHL'er Bonk, & a couple of future picks. Utah has THE LEVERAGE & knows there's several suitors.
Trading gets danny Desnoyers..staying at 6 he get Obrien..plain and simple
Leave it the flyers to get the least talented center of the group in Martin
My original thought was to trade up to #3 by offering Chicago #6, #31 and Cam York. The Athletic states that Chicago needs a defenseman. Pick #3 should ensure the Flyers get Desnoyers. He has size, a long reach in the crease, and great vision of the game. Just mho.
Picks 3-6 are pretty even.
Go big or go home. Trade up to #2
Trading up isn’t worth it, they get someone solid at 6 regardless of who’s there
Would absolutely not trade up. You don't necessarily get a better player at 4 vs 6. No one knows how these players will turn out; it's pretty much a crap shoot and who is to say that O'Brien isn't as good as say Desnoyers 3 or 4 years from now. Let Utah take Martin at four if that's what they want to do. Why do Utah a favor? And I still think they should just take the BPA and if that is Porter Martone, take him.
I'm in love with the idea of moving up to 2 and getting Misa. I think we would have to give up a lot but that's the only move I would be willing to make. 4 vs 6 is not enough of a difference in tier of prospects to give up something for.
Am I the only one sees a Tkachuk or Bennet in Martin? Matthew Tkachuk is 6'2" 203 lbs Bennett 6'1" 200 lbs and both VERY physical like Martin who is 6'0" 174 lbs. Everyone wants a tkachuk now and I think a resemblance is in the draft now.
