   Oh my GOODNESS man this trade is wild! Even though I'm much more on Buffalo's side than most, JJ is a huge add for Utah! Let me know down below, what are YOUR thoughts on this deal? Do YOU think it was a HUGE fleece? OR do you think it could be a win for the Sabres? Let me know!

   I think with the depth Utah has on defense, they were going to lose a defensmen soon anyway. They have more than enough depth on the blue line to cover the loss of Kesselring. Peterka is, IMO, an obvious upgrade over Doan. I'll miss Doan, but Utah scored big. Hopefully, Doan and Kesselring will do well for Buffalo.

   I think the let down here is the idea that Paterka should be a big fish getter at that age and restriction – fans were thinking Robertson, or Ehlers, or even Sergachev from Utah if that was who it would be.. but i like it honestly. Hope Doan grows up into a role quick.

   JJ is NOT a good 2-way player. Not even close. All offense, no defense. Plus, since he got his bell rung at the beginning of last year, he's been shying away from contact. He hasn't been right since getting concussed.

    agreed, I like Kesselring, I still think Utah won the trade but I don't think Buffalo got fleeced anywhere near as much as people are saying

    There is a theory floating around (that I agree with) that Utah told Adams that they planned on offering sheeting JJ and forced the deal. The term of the contract would be a 1,2 and 3. So Adams picked 2 NHL ready players in exchange for 3 possible NHL players 5 years from now.

    Was underwhelmed at first for the Sabres but as the dust settles I’m ok with this trade. Time will tell.

    People don't understand how good Kesselring is a good 2nd pair RHD maybe even top pair with Dahlin I could see working really well. I just hope the Sabres don't ruin him

    Utah gave up too much…in 2 years Doan could be a 40 goal scorer…if Oilers had kept Kesselring they would have a Cup….Buffalo won this deal believe it or not…

    That title could be accused of clickbait. JJ is a 23 year old proven NHL scorer trending to be a long time 80 point guy, and the Sabres had his rights and leverage for 4 years. They rushed to trade him for Utahs 5th best D man and a grinder. Why? Bc JJ would’ve costed money and these guys won’t.

    I like the guys Buffalo got but what they paid is a joke. And apparently if you want out of Buffalo all you need is to be worthy of a payday and ask. They’re a farm team for the rest of the league apparently.

    As a sabres fan, I always disagree with his draft picks and suggestions for my team. This trade is putting the sabres further from the playoffs than yesterday, I didn't believe I could be more pessimistic for next year. The Sabres who struggled to score added a third pair defenseman and a player who is a question mark for a top 6 forward who was one of the few scorers on the team. The only hope is we lose enough games to win the lottery and get McKenna

    Josh Doan was a monster in Utah’s third line. He could have been second line if he had played more game. Kesselring is a really staunch defender. I think both teams got good ROI.

    Said the same thing about the savoy for McLeod trade. McLeod had 20 goals, what savoy do 😮. Petterka had 70 plus assists one line with Thompson and tuch 79 goals between the two of them. Sabres have plenty of top six forward prospects. Jj a defensive liability.

    I think he will be around 70-75 points. Utah led the league in rush shots per game. That is where Peterka gets his points.

    Daniel butt is 6’7 he will be in the line up next year
    Daniel simashev (sp) is 6’6 he will be in the line up next year

    Both just won the KHL championship and play very physical
    You have Tij Iginla who plays physical is coming in two seasons
    And who ever they draft at 4th

    Before the trade I gave Utah like a 50/50 chance of making the playoffs next year, now I think it's more like a 70% chance. Even if they make the playoffs they're probably a first round exit, but even making it would be huge for the franchise.
