Anything to get out of that stupid Mrazek trade is a plus. Gibson not great but definitely an upgrade which cost them nothing and it was a plus to get rid of Mrazek!
What you can expect out of Mrazek is injury trouble. Hes a great backup option, but try to play him more than 4 games in a row and he’ll blow the groin again and be out for months.

Behind Kreider, Gibson had been the most talk about trade target so in a way, glad is over so he gets the trade over and focus on hockey. I do think he is 1A/1B with Talbot in Mo-town.

When fourgiev makes the all star game, you can’t use that as a qualifier. lol. He had one decent season with the Avalanche the first year, but only did well because of the team in front of him. the second year he did worse. But I hear you saying he made the all star game and he had the most wins! Ah. I counter with, look at his numbers. And then look at the scores of those games. The Avs were having to outscore their opponents 6-5, 6-4, 5-4, 7-6, on a regular basis. And he started a ton. A ton. lol. That couldn’t continue forever. Even that scoring wasn’t good enough for the first third of his third year, and they finally wiped the slate. They’d have been higher in the standings if they’d started with Blackwood and Wedgewood. Maybe they don’t even trade Mikko at that point because the team would have looked solid, and they wouldn’t have been scared for depth.

Ducks fan here, the salary space isn't necessarily for this season. Next summer we have an insane amount of RFAs. Carlsson, Gauthier, LaCombe, Zellweger, Mintyukov and im probably forgetting someone

If the Red Wings were able to form another Grind Line to actually challenge opposing top lines, that would be best outcome for Detroit trying to rebuild what they once had.

Without Detroit having some physicality and push back ability, it doesn't matter who's between the pipes, it's another bust season, before it even begins!

I met Gibby's Mother-In-Law on a flight a few months ago. She hated that he was so abused on the Ducks. We talked about how we both wanted him traded to a team that would appreciate him. I'm sure she must be so excited right now
