Bro was +23 last season and we got him for a 6th round pick (the 3rd was free). Great move for our D depth. Looking forward to seeing how Spence fits in our lineup.
Absolute steal for Ottawa
It's obvious why Jordan Spence is too small for a playoff run, did you not watch the playoffs? He is a right shot Brannstrom who can skate a little better. You look at his fancy stats & they look okay, but you have to watch him play to see the inefficiencies. He is too small & soft to move big players from the front of the net & look at this recent draft & how many big guys were taken. This guy is not winning board battles, net front battles or puck battles, he will steal the odd puck with his stick & skating. He's a decent transition piece & could make Jensen expendable if they want to create some cap space, but it's just a matter of time before Yakemchuk by passes both Matinpalo & Jordan & potentially Jensen.
Maybe LA wants more size for a third pairing. Also I heard that maybe he will get a lot more money next year and they didn’t want to commit to that. We will see how he fits in with Ottawa’s team. If Jenson doesn’t play will the size and physicality be an issue with Chabot or Sanderson? He should work on second pp unit with 2 dman.
