You guys are so wrong about Tavares, It's comical. You guys know that Nylander, Marner and Matthews got all the puck time these last few years. Tavares deserves better than Toronto and I hope that he leaves Toronto and wins a cup right away as Top 6 center. The whole 7 years, Tavares wins the draw and was TOLD to play net front while we watch the rest of them lose the puck and not play within the flow of the game. 5 on 5 he has had no wingers to set him up EXCEPT for the year Marner was with Tavares for the entire year where he scored 47 goals. All the negative comments are so cringe. So many haters, can everyone simmer down 😅 JD makes for a great guest host… he's friends with the boys, and the chemistry is effortless. Nice to switch it up now and then, tis a long season. As with the Leafs, sometimes we need some 'new DNA' to shake it up. And when Kyper returns, we'll all dig it as per usual.
I know it can end up being a bad contract but at least for this summer, if the Leafs can sign Marchand it will help ease the pain of Marner leaving. And I hate Marner now but it's still extremely painful how it's ended.
The rumor is 9 million for 4 years. If the Leafs pay Marchand that kind of money, it's clear they have not learned a single thing from the past decade. And they want to lowball JT who took friendly deal to come to Toronto and had a better season than Marchand.
I'll predict the future: They get Marchand and let JT and Marner walk. They barely make the wildcard in the season and they get eliminated in the First Round by the Panthers.
