1. The reason is Tree is only a GM better than Dubas but he is not a big game GM , he is too patient don’t expected he will make any big decisions

  2. Toronto Sceptres’ GM Gina Kingsbury has been relatively busy this month trying to make upgrades to the blueline and in net, even making moves during the PWHL Entry Draft. There was an expansion draft that had featured clubs based in Vancouver and Seattle, giving those PWHL original-six clubs other than the Minnesota Frost a huge reason to make changes to stop the Frost from winning a third straight league championship (Walter Cup) in 2026. Brad Treliving by contrast seems to have been mostly asleep at the wheel so far this offseason despite a clear need for the Leafs to move on, for starters, from John Tavares and Mitch Marner, two very inconsistent playoff performers.

  3. Leafs already are the 3rd biggest team. They lost to Florida who is the 2nd smallest and on average 10 pounds lighter than Toronto.
Now the leafs will lose marner and Robertson their 2 lightest guys. Leafs will end up as the biggest team next season.

  4. I've been a fan since 1961 when I use to watch with my Leaf obsessed Grandpa. The Leafs have nothing to offer other teams, except bloated contracts, and the ufa market is weak and overpriced. 🤣🤣.Barring a miracle this is going to be a bad year, Treliving has not managed his assets well, that Laughton trade was bad and I've seen a lot of bad trades by that team, so I have no faith that he's up to the task of retooling.

  5. i'm telling you now leafs will be very limited in what they do. I don't understand GMs. They are all so caught up in their teams and making mistakes. That's why i love Zito.

  6. You answered your own question on why the Leafs missed out on these trades, they were distracted with re-signing Tavares and Knies.

  7. Like every single year TOR just sits there being held hostage by its RFA's and scrape the bottom of the UFA pile.
No one wants to play in TOR unless they get overpaid or no one else wanted them.
TOR has nothing worth trading !

  8. ALL Canadian teams have the worst 7 GMs in the NHL PERIOD. How in the hell does Treliving let Jonny Hockey leave for NOTHING trades Bennett for a 2nd rounder , how does Edmonton GM let both Holloway and Broberg walk without matching ? signs Campbell to a 5 year 5.5 million lol, how does Montreal NOT draft Michkov , Wont even talk about Vancouver GM , to much to list , Toronto lets Hyman walk , gives up a first round to Carolina to take Marleau for one season they pick Seth Jarvis with that pick . OMG

  9. The Leafs had to go all in – their window to win the Cup closed with the end of this year. They took a shot at it in 23/24 and 24/25.

  10. Pretty frustrating watching players that would really help the Leafs going to other teams for basically nothing. Very disappointed with Tree work so far. Do you think you dont have to pay for anyone and that other teams are just going to give you players for nothing. Get off your butt and do something. It is obvious after watching the Florida series they need leadership , size and gritt. Now go get it.

  11. Leaf media overrating carlo – big guy who won't play big – that was an awful trade and if it was dubas, the Leaf media would have ripped him but since it was tre, it was ok

  12. I cant see the Leafs doing much outside of signing a couple bottom 6 guys and locking up Taveres and Knies. I'm predicting the leafs leave alot of cap space available this year and add throughout the year.

  13. Both of you seem like clowns. Just get to the point. Or do you two ladies love to hear yourselves talk. I'm not into chit chat at all. I don't like small talk I like to get to the conversation and a point but you guys want to protract this.
