So we’re basically screwed
Try to go for Granlund, Ehlers and Boeser even if that means spending all your cap. The chances of getting Ekblad or Gavrikov are too low in my opinion. Canes need scoring in regular season and off-season. Just go for that and trade for a puck moving d-man if you want that as well. I'm all about adding the extra offence. That's an extra 165-180 points a season.
Not getting Marner is not the worst thing in the world. We need a shooter/scorer/playoff-performer. Marner happens to be none of those things.
Why would we want a guy for 15 mil a year who never shows up in the playoffs? Vegas can have him.
