  1. The idea that Marner isnt going to somehow get the 48 hour flu every time Vegas is in Toronto over the next 4 years is Hilarious. That dude will never lace em up for another game in Toronto.

  2. The people on Leafs Talk are just like their fans. Only Toronto would run Marner out of town. There are AT LEAST 15 teams who would die to have Marner. AT LEAST 15 fan bases would love to have Marner. Probably more like 20. Only Toronto and their fans have such an air of superiority that they would blame all their failure on a 100 point winger. I watched the media over and over treat Marner like dog ####. I love the interview where he told people to f o. I bet it was rough on his family. And is a 100 point player in the NHL.

  3. Bunkis take it down, emotionally. I feel you are losing it over your made up idea of reality. Marner is the best of the core. Yes the core failed, it was destined to. Critics constantly clamoring over small skilled pick ups while pretending that 'studs and duds' was ever a winning model. Success in all arenas comes from a strong middle class and and identity of unity.
We were blessed to watch Marner and we benefited from 100s of his passes that won games. His vision is amazing. Your need to villianize him is not really classy is it?
As a Leaf fan, decades of being one, happily I'm siding with everyone who says its the fans and fan culture. Uptight, obsessed, only a cup is success, taking out your problems by lashing out at your own team and hanging their losses on the one on his way out the door. Toxic, but hey just like tax rates per state, its not really a factor right??
Being a fan isn't an excuse to be $h!tty
And of course Marner wasn't perfect, but wouldnt ypu have rather moved on from Rielly?
Lets see what this team has learned and support our team going forward.

  4. Toronto is the number one city to badmouth a player on the way out. These guys literally say he's not from here, like that makes a difference. These guys are saying good riddance, un be lievable. You kick a dog long enough and he won't guard your yard. You kick a dog long enough and he will not protect you. You kick a dog long enough and he will leave. I knew Toronto was arrogant when it comes to Hockey, but this is worse than being a black baseball player in Boston. What a terrible guy, he only scored a 100 points and help us become the 2nd best team in the NHL. Didn't they play Florida harder than Edmonton.

  5. 15%? You guys chased him out of town. However you feel about him, he’s a 100-point player with lots of Leaf records. You should just wish him the best but if you can’t, and feel the need to kick him on the way out., you were part of the problem. Mark my words, say goodbye to Matthews in 3 years.

  6. F the Leafs. They are the Worst. They should have traded MAtthes and Nylander, but no we are stupid.

  7. LOL They say that Marner can't win, Really. It's Marners fault. When was the last time Toronto won a Stanley Cup. 1967!!!!!!!!! were all those marner's fault too. Who cares how Marner acts. Who cares if you don't like him. HE SCORED 102 POINTS. If you think you know hockey, if you thing you are God's gift to the NHL, then you sign Marner, suck it up. You won't have to worry about how little Marner did in the post season, because you may not get there. Look at how forgiving they are when it comes to players who do 20% of what Marner does. You reap what you sow.

  8. I’m glad Marchand signed in Florida and didn’t give the Leafs a chance to pay him $8M x4 which would have bern a disaster.

  9. If this was MLB or global soccer I'd have zero issue with Marner getting as much money as possible as there isn't a salary cap. He made his NHL debut 10 years after a hard cap was introduced and he's from Southern Ontario, how he and his camp never understood fans didn't like he never gave his hometown team a discount and then never performed in the playoffs given his contract baffles me.

  10. How classless to A) blame Marner for the team not winning B) Bad mouth any player on the way out of town C) Look down your nose at someone. I would have thought that a team this rich in culture would have a little more substance. Maybe that bitterness is what comes when you haven't won a cup since Hitler was in power.

  11. The Toronto sports media is the worst part of being a Leafs fan! Losing these two nerds will brighten the out look of every Leafs fan.

  12. AHHHH Beautiful Toronto. The city that loves Tie Domi and his 28 points (his high mark) but hates Mitch Marner and his 102 points. And Marner is not Universally hated. Ouside of Toronto he is admired. I heard Michael Misa call Marner his idol. Any team in the NHL with the exception of Toronto would love to have Marner. Even after he got fed up with Toronto. Marner has not even gotten developed to his peak yet. He is only 25 years old. San Jose treats Will Smith better than Toronto treated Marner. LOL quit trying to act like the media didn't blame Marner for the last 2 years of not winning the Cup. Yea, that was you. Edmonton treats Leon Drsisaitl better than Toronto treats Marner. And you can see how Draisaitl has not performed that great in the finals. Ahhh but Toronto has young Marner to blame because they don't like him. They should have either signed him earlier or traded him earlier. And you blame Marner for even that.

  13. I’ve been working in limousines business for over 25 years
Met many hockey players(the kindest professional athletes in the whole world)
Mitch was one of the rudest people I ever met

  14. 1MM for Lorentz is not a lot of money in this new era guys, you're being unnecessarily harsh on that extremely cheap contract.

  15. Auston Mathews (78 points) got his money when he asked for it. William Nylander (84 points) got his money when he asked for it. Mitch Marner (102 points) is burned at the stake when he asks for his money. And in how the contracts are going up with the salary cap going up it was not even that out of line. At the time of the Mathews and Nylanders contract they were two of the highest paid players in the league. Should have signed Marner last year and made him feel wanted like any other team would do to a 25 year old super star. And built your team around those 3. Instead of pinning a tail on him and making him out to be a villian on his way out of town.

  16. “Every time Marner touches the puck…Leafs fans will boo” quote of Leafs 2025. Great chance for ownership and management to show not only DNA change in the lineup but above as well. No tribute video. No bending the knee to Gary. Throw our weight around like we are one of the richest most powerful teams in the sport. This is a great opportunity for ownership to restore a better relationship with the fans.

  17. Nick Ritchie wasn't a skilled player when they traded for him.. He was big guy with no good scoring history

    You guys are wrong

  18. Edmonton fan… We have Darnell Nurse's contract and oddly enough… eventually he'll be getting paid way less than the newer players peak contract's.

Player's nowadays only have to navigate 4 year's approximately until the cash in
    Elias Pettersson… 🫢

  19. I have to disagree with you guys on one point. The pressure in Toronto and Montreal is significantly greater than any other city. Yea every city the fans care but I live in New York where the pressure is great for all teams but the pressure the rangers face is nothing close to the pressure Toronto and Montreal face. What the Yankees are down here are what the maple leafs and Canadians are up there.

  20. Of all the 9 years he's played in the playoffs ..i counted 17 times he fell down without anyone touching him …yeah he's a great playoff performer 😂😂😂

  21. I tried to hate on him all day. I'm pretty over it now. The kid put on a show for us. Let's just hope Vegas suck for a while. Leave him alone

  22. Marner didn't like the MEDIA but loved the fans so stop Deflecting the blame and take it like a MAN. Bunkis you're the reason just like every other Content creator who thinks they're a Rock star. Look in the mirror and take responsibility. Stop blaming the fans!!!

  23. I don’t see why they’re like Nylander/Tavares is a bad pairing. Together Tavares had 38 goals and Nylander had 45. I don’t see the problem playing them together?
