1. The free agency market sucks. Hopefully we can make a move or two but we’re going to need some young guys to keep stepping up.

  2. To this point, it’s been a phenomenal offseason. Addressed a big need. Re-signed 3 players to good deals. Offloaded a bad contract. Great draft. Unfortunately, the road gets much more difficult from here. The UFA cupboards are pretty bare and it’s very reasonable to think we miss out on all of the names worth signing. I think we’re gonna need a couple prospects to step up and play big roles. Let’s see what happens

  3. Kane doesn't need the money. I think the biggest reason he stayed was because of his son.

  4. His leadership and hockey IQ add so much more in the locker room for the young men coming up than salary may suggest. Silent leaders are deadly.

  5. I really think pro sport CBA negotiations in leagues with salary caps need to have someone (players or owners) fight for an state income tax neutralizer. What I mean is allow teams that are in states with income tax (state) to sign players to a salary that matches the value if no tax was taken out but not have the extra count against the cap.

It is not like teams & owners have the power to eliminate tax in their states no matter how much lobbying they try so it shouldn't be a competitive advantage. When the NHL went to a salary cap league warm weather teams improved at a great rate than cold weather teams. To then have the tax advantage as well is something that shouldn't exist when cap space & flexibility is so crucial to success.

  6. Watch out Andrew Tate, Brian is the new Red Pilled Alpha! It takes mucho grande huevos to eat a calzone while your wife pushes the shopping cart at Costco!

  7. All teams tamper. I mean…90% of the free agents sign their contracts at like 2:05 PM when the window opens at 2 PM. C’mon…these contracts are ready to go and agreed upon before the window even opens. Also…let’s be honest…we all know the Wings tampered to get DeBrincat. It was OBVIOUS he wanted to come to Detroit, OBVIOUS that Yzerman wanted him, it just took longer because he was trying to lowball the Sens.

  8. Yaay! Not only we get Kaner back but we get more little Archie🥹 and little Patrick🥹 videos!💪😅

Those little dudes need their own reality TV show! 😭
Now let's improve the DEFENSE and upgrade our WINGERS!

    #LGRW!🏒🔥🔥🔥

    Now

  9. LOL, I have lived in Florida for 15 years, and the climate there is horrible: constant oppressive heat, humidity, weird animals,.

  10. I think the whole cxap system ,probably unintentionally, has created a different kind of a problem where expensive free agents are only willing to go to a handful of teams. In a way, it is becoming .like soccer where, if you are a Real Madrid or a Bayern Munich, you can pretty much buy anyone you want while the other teams are left with scraps, even if they have the money.

  11. Hear me out: We go all-in on Corey Perry on a 1-year 6.5M deal. He's going to get us to a cup finals loss, which would be a godsend for building a winning culture…

  12. Kane led the Wings in 5v5 points per game from mid December on. His lines w Cat/Larkin and Cat/Kasper outscored opponents 15-8. (Raymond with Cat/Larkin and Kasper/Larkin last year lost 20-24) He was +3 at 5v5 for the year, 2nd among forwards. The team's best 2 lines were the two aforementioned w him on them. The team's highest scoring line by GF/60 was another Kane/Cat line, w Copp (which tied 11-11 overall and had some defensive issues).

So. He is not just a power play QB, no. Being special on the power play does not make one a power play specialist. And for all the talk of 'his age begins to show' at 5v5, lack of speed, etc, Kane was in on more fast breaks, 2 on 1s, 3 on 1s, rushes, at 5v5, than seemingly anyone else on the team.

If you play him 5v5 w talented linemates and give generous deployment, as of this past season he will reward you with scoreboard wins. Which cannot be said for Razor, and yes I am aware of the deployment differences on Ray lines.

  13. $16.25M in space if you add in Postava. That’s barely enough to get Boeser/Ehlers and Miller/Provorov/Gavrikov.

Would be mission accomplished if they can sign on the dotted line.

  14. What's REALLY interesting with Kane's new contract and that you forgot to talk about is that it holds no clauses (atleast from what i read on puckpedia), so we could potentially see Detroit move on from him at trade deadline and get a decent return IF we are out of the race… Hopefully none of it happens though!
