@Ducks d'Anaheim

#NHL #AnaheImDucks #redwings #JoHnGibson ✅ Découvrez notre partenaire! 1. Just another trade with a underwhelming return. We now have a lot of cap and a GM with pressure to make the playoffs – I can smell bad contracts incoming

  2. the trade is okay, even we hoped a first and a player and its hard to lose Gibson and especially Zegras in the same week. I would like more a bottom 6 player back then an older goalie, especially when we sign Husso, we could sign another goalie on free agency…
but I dont understand the timing, during the draft and before Dostal has a new contract.
it helps only Dostal to make a better deal then before, bc he is the one!

  3. Man it hurts to say that with a different team his numbers would be so much better. I think he is one of the top 3 goalies during the time he has played so far.

  4. Personally, I'm more bummed about this trade than I am about Zegras's. And yes, part of it is sentimental, as I've watched and cheered for Gibson from 2013. But I also don't really see how this makes us better on the ice. Goaltending tandem was the only thing that worked really well last year and now we're already moving away from it? And for Mrazek, who is even bigger injury prone than Gibson? Also, isn't Husso basically a write off at this point? Why are we giving 3rd goalie more than 2 mil AAV contract? Who would give him that kind of money after 3 bad seasons? Who would give him more than a league min at this point anyway? The fact that he played like 3 good games for us isn't exactly relevant sample size.

  5. The tade is …fine….on paper, its what you should expect given all the surrounding stuff like injuries and contracts. Ducks didn't get more or less than they should have….its the timing that's terrible. Now the Ducks have zero leverage in the negotiations with Dostal. And if Dostal asks for 8 mil per year for 8 years, the Ducks have to give it to him because there aren't any other goal tenders out there and there won't be. Exact same issue that they are going to have after the Z trade with MacT.

  6. He should have been traded years ago, to a real team. A team with a functional defense to show the world that he's a great goalie. He should have gone to Edmonton and be the big change they needed to win the cup. I love Gibby but damn this trade keeps bad. Doesn't even look like we're getting Marner either so what's Verbeek gonna do? overpay for a bum?

  7. Im a Bruins fan but the Ducks are my favorite team in the West. You have amazing coverage, keep it up. Good luck to Gibby, Mrazek is a good backup, he'll do well.

  8. So with Husso just being signed for another 2 yrs at 2,2 million AAV. Does this indicate that Dostal is actually included in a package deal to land a big UFA/RFA like Marner?
    Hope not.

  9. I think we as Ducks fans hold a lot of value in the players. Some sentimental too. But in reality, our team has been really bad and trading for our players probably doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in other GMs. So my opinion we’re getting fair value for Z and Gibby.

  10. Yeah, Gibson spent his career in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he made a very large pile of cash in Anaheim, far more than his value the past few years of his contract in O.C.

  11. Where's Suchanek? he was great , is back from injury yet? I know VB has a hard on for the giant Clara to eventually be Dostal backup

  12. He will succeed anywhere he goes, he held that team alot of times when defence was no where to be found, he will do amazing anywhere.

  13. Lifelong wings fan, and fan of your work — i wanted to know your thoughts on this immediately lol. All I could think was "Duck my life is going to be even more depressed"

  14. Seriously, what are the Ducks doing? Are they making these bad deals in order to clear cap space to sign some big name players in free agency? Otherwise, I don't get it. And who'd even want to come to Anaheim now?

  15. Have we not considered that maybe John Gibson didn’t want to play for someone that enabled Brad Aldrich?

  16. Verbeek seems like hes back into a corner and doesnt really have a plan beside get cap space. But now with marner to vegas and alot more top guys getting signed up quick, what is the move now. We dont need more over pays on vets like killorn and strome. I dont see us getting big pieces that are going to move the needle this season. Looking forward to the race to .500 again.
