@Red Wings de Détroit

1. Glad to see another year of Larkins prime is going to be wasted while every other team in the east we were competing with improved. Bravo.

  2. JVR = discount Tarensenko, looking forward to his 13 goals and 22 assists. Dude will probably miss 10-15 games. Whatver.

  3. The story I have seen with Miller is that he was prepared to sign an offer sheet with Carolina at the same price point.

  4. No trade, restricted trade and tax haven city's are killing the league. 20 years from now there will be 4 divisions in the league FLORIDA/VEGAS/and will just split TEXAS into 2 divisions. You may think I am crying salty tears here but tell me honestly that this shit isn't causing a major problem in the league now and definitely into the future. This "Free Agency" is a laughable relic of the past man. 👎

  5. Our PP was pretty damn productive last year. If JVR improves the PP, that's great. At $1M, I have no problem with him in a bottom six role if he maintains 0.5 ppg production.
Honestly, this existing roster, maintaining their PP, and bringing the PK to league average will improve us significantly. Gibson in goal could improve us to actual wild card contention.

Bernard-Docker is the piece I am most interested in watching. Looking at his numbers, he could be a sneaky good pickup. And Lord knows we need better defense.

We have lots of cap space to make a trade before the season starts. Or poach from a team who bought big in FA and looking to get under the Cap. I prefer a bunch of options, to an overpay of a FA for many years.

  6. You can tell that some kids in the comments play way too much NHL 24 with their trades and cries.

  7. I think they should start playing the prospects that are ready and then see what they have and maybe they will be better off using them instead of playing slow no scoring players that are not helping the team especially the last 3 years a lot needs to change and it’s not fair to cut Tarasenko for JVR who had one point less last season, cheaper yes but can they actually get anyone who will change the team up front because they sure have not done anything with the back end. Defense is more important it goes goalies Defense then forwards, if you don’t have the defense then it’s not going to change much especially by keeping the same Penalty killers who were last in the league. I think keep putting in prospects as they will get better and you don’t lose them if they need to work on their game. Danielson has done enough to make the team, Mazur had an unlucky injury but give him a chance and if Lombardi doesn’t play well try MBN and see where he is and kisskinen. We need to see what we have and not just worry about overpaying a player who might not be able to play the system. This team needs more than just Free Agents. They need to get the future going and quit holding them back, waive Ras ect. If they are best out, enough of waiting for them to be waivers eligible, I would rather lose with rookies than lose with veterans

  8. this is one of the more clueless podcast ive heard talk hockey. as a wings fan trying to hear some insight on the day, i get met with "do something" takes for RFAs that have to agree to sign somewhere. he then whines for 10 minutes about steve not trading for miller then says one sentence of "well miller may not want to come here but steve should still match" you're not qualifying the statement with that. you're still whining he didn't get miller. there's no perspective given, this is a fan run podcast in the truest sense lol

like buddy, the rangers also missed the playoffs, they probably dont want to send him to another team who also missed and is trying for a spot. carolina is 99% making it and miller wanted to go to a contender that wanted him. like why are we even giving this any head space for more moaning about yzerman "not doing anything". debrincat trade, which he so lopsidedly won because spoiler: the player only wanted to go here, happened july 9th. i mean jesus this fanbase needs a Xanax. "go and offer gavrikov more" okay so 7×11.5 is your offer and he never lives up to it then the podcast complains about bad contracts in 2 years (pretending this game where if you offer someone so far above market they'll abandon all of their other criteria for picking a new home city to play in).

so negative for no reason lmao just relax i can PROMISE you, he can identify good players and how to build a roster much better than you

  9. Would you stop with the whole not overpaying thing. you think he is saving for McDavid for next year? This is just lazy. You have to overpay to get good players. That is the reality of it. Detroit is going to be amiddling medoicre team with this management, for decades to come.

  10. All these other signings are jokes–none of them will see any NHL time. They will be buried in GR forever.

  11. Ok, if this was a weak free agency, what happened last year? And the year before?

  12. Ok, if this was a weak free agency, what happened last year? And the year before?
and if Yzerman has built such a great prospect pool, as many are saying, how come "he never has what others want?"

  13. We're 2 years out from signing/ trading for big names. Let our young core blossom first then fill in around it.

  14. Then people need to stop saying Yzerman is a great GM. Your literal job as a GM is to make players want to play for your team. I don't disagree that there weren't a lot of free agents looking to come to Detroit. That's a GM issue.

  15. No move is better than what SY did today. The signings just reinforce the the narrative that SY is incapable of doing anything that moves the needle for this team. He signs an old has-been and a never-was. What was the point? It's so pathetic that I almost pity the guy.
