La Journée 1 de l’agence libre de la LNH est dans les livres! Les Devils du New Jersey et le directeur général Tom Fitzgerald ont fait quelques pas pour améliorer leur liste 2025-26. Dans une tournure choquante, le gardien de but de NJ Devils a signé le gardien Jake Allen à 5 ans, 1,8 M $ / par accord. Quelle décision magistrale de Tom Fitzgerald et un geste de « bon gars » par Allen. Je suis content de le revoir. Celui-ci a stupéfait beaucoup dans le monde du hockey. Plusieurs équipes étaient prêtes à lancer des contrats sérieux à Allen pour l’atterrir. Les Devils du New Jersey ont ensuite tourné leur attention vers les 6 derniers, signant RW Connor Brown des Oilers d’Edmonton à un accord de 4 ans à 3 millions de dollars et en avant Evgenii Dadonov des étoiles de Dallas à un contrat de base de 1 million de dollars avec des bonus. (Les détails des bonus n’ont pas encore été rendus publics) Le défenseur Dennis Cholowski a été ramené sur un contrat à 775 000 $. Ace, your voice sounds damaged dude 😳 feel better soon. If you look at what's happening across the league, it's not too bad so far. I wanna see Luke sign for something sensible next. Allen retained for $1.8 million is genius (the cap is going through the roof soon), Brown is a definite upgrade to the bottom 6… he preforms in the play offs too. Dadanov means there's another Russian speaker in the room for Gritsuyk.
Other than Allen and marner traded there wasn't much excitement and nothing out there to be excited about. And yes much more about covering Fitz 🍑
Fitz is clueless, hope I'm wrong but I strongly believe nothing else will be done
If this is all Fitz does we will lose in round 1 again. I will flip out.
We added a 30 year old and a 36 year old. We still have absolutely no depth at center if Hughes or Nico go down season over
The best thing about this Free Agency is we didn’t do anything to hurt our cap in the long run.
Signing Cholowski instead of Brendan Smith who can play big minutes, can hit and put puck in the net is a massive failure. Metro looks trash again and it gives somes hope the Devils make the Playoffs.But even if they do which I'm not sure about they'll get bounced in the first round again. The Devils are spot jogging.
Love allen for 1.8…. Dadanov and brown are great bottom 6 signings… palat and mercer (not happy about mercer) have to b traded to create cap space, so we can trade for a top 6 goal scorer… does that mean hamiton gets traded? (I hope not) but hamilton, nemec, casey and 2 years of draft picks could most certainly get us the top 6 goal scoring winger and some defense to fill the spots cause of the injuries
Clearly fits didn't do nearly as much this year as last but I didn't think he really needed to. I give him a B+. Nothing breaking but the bottom 6 got a boost that didn't break the bank. The biggest part was keeping Allen for pennies. Hearing him say he wanted to end his career in NJ makes me think he sees something special here. And he took a huge discount to stay compared to what he could have gotten. They only think I would have liked to have seen was a palat trade mainly to make room for Luke. I'm sure fits will address it. I'll get flamed for saying this but I'm glad Nemec and mercer are still here. Mercer is a great bottom 6 guy with potential to move up at his young age. Still have around 8 mill in cap space which we can offload a little to fit Luke in. And if we trade palat we could potentially fit glass too. So imo solid B+ for Fitzy
This roster got smaller and softer, didn’t think that was possible. I hate the moves. Should of just kept Haula especially with giving Brown 4 years, that’s atrocious!Basically trading Haula and Tatar for Brown and Dadonov. Where’s the size, grit and toughness? They need more than what they’ve got.
This free agency class was horrible, and they were really no big names to go after beucase they were all resigned prior to July 1st. If we want to content for a cup then Fitz gotta have another move to make a trade to improve the top six.
Fitz better be cooking up a trade for a top 6 forward, we're starving
