They gave up a 1st, a 2nd a 3rd, a 4th, and Quick to get Jeannot, Korpisalo, and Gavrikov. Plus they had to trade picks, and prospects to clear out Peterson's horrible contract so they could resign Gavrikov. I don't blame the players for leaving. I blame the management for not trading Gavrikov, and a guy like Roy at the deadline. This team can't afford not to trade these guys. Columbus was the smart ones. There was no way they were going to let him leave without getting something for him.

Gavi didn’t want to stay in Los Angeles. I think the combo of the recent fires and all of the politics in Los Angeles just turned him off. I mean would you want your kids to be raised out there? Brown moved back to upstate NY. Kopi will move back to Slovenia when he retires.
LA King's mgmt feels like Coach Hiller wants a better 4th line to play minutes and be a factor in tight games. No more burning out the top 9 forwards and 4 defensemen like they did against Edmonton.

Ceci and Dumoloun are improvements over Spence and Gavi,more size and experience, the bigger worry is the fact that you have Kopi and Drew as our top center and d-man, those guys ,while Hall of Famers,are well past their prime..

Dumoulin, Armia, and Forsberg aren't sexy but hopefully they shake out like Foegele. I don't like the Ceci or Perry signings. I thought Holland was going to take a swing and trade for Robertson or possibly Byram. Overall I'm disappointed at these moves and would have preferred looking at trade or internal options rather than overpaying free agents.
Shit better work or Hiller and Holland will be freshening up their resume. These signings better be legit. Zero understanding if this team isn't noticeable better than last year. $7m for Gavrikov and we couldn't afford that? Gtfo…not happy at all with any of these moves.

I think Holland felt the need to be aggressive in getting players signed to fill in holes quickly in a free agent market with pretty slim pickings. It wasn’t great but I think the team is still a playoff contender

Blake lost a lot of Kings fans when he traded away Quick. Holland just lost the rest with the signing of Perry. He is a locker room cancer. You don't get kicked off the worst team in the league for being a good teammate. The defensemen that Holland signed either had similar or worse stats than Spencer and are costing us more than twice as much. Holland is apparently listening to Hiller and after this year's playoff blunders (and failure to take responsibility for them) show that listening to him is a mistake. I probably won't be watching or attending too many games this year. If you have Perry on your team, then your organization is lacking ethics.

We got very mediocre and expensive third-line defenses for a very long time. Corey Perry is ok if we got him for league minimum but $4M including bonuses WTF. I'm glad we signed Kuz but we needed a diffrensmaker at defence. Our beloved kings feel very mediocre this off season.
One of the worst days as a Kings fan. We are certainly entering one of the darkest eras. The Ceci signing is probably one of the worst signings the Kings have made is a very long time. Perry joining the team is disgusting, the only bright spot is when we are eliminated this year, if we make the playoffs, we get to see his sad crying face. We just got older and slower for our fifth go around with the Oilers. This is going to be a long year.

I've been waiting for this episode strictly for the Perry signing. It most certainly is a tough pill to swallow and I'm not sure I'll ever get on board with it, but I do know come playoffs I'll be happy he's in silver and black causing havoc for us and not against us for a change.
I like Perry, but i don't think he going to get you 19 goals like he did in Edmonton. Ceci is slow. Forsberg is very streaky goaltender. Gavrikov resigning would have been more an improvement than all 5 of the signings.
I've said it here before and will say it again, the Kings needed to get young big hungry players….players between 24 to 28 years old, who grind the boards and sacrifice their bodies to block shots. What in the freaking world did Holland do?! Eddie your analysis is spot on. Would be interesting to understand if LA is not a destination for players, because LA had the money-space- so what happened?
