The pedigree of a franchise that hasn’t won the cup in nearly 60 years???….they are a joke and not likely to change that until they sign somebody like Brad Marchand, a player who has won and does whatever it takes to win…

All these leafs fans acting like the guy actually deserved a $10 contract. At this stage in his career, and the way he's been playing, that's exactly what Tavares should be paid.
I heard rumours of $25 million over four or five years and laughed because I thought that was way more than he SHOULD get. I was right.

Its an OK deal .The AAV is ok but I am not liking that 4th year .,Not sure why the Leafs did that .They could have played more hard ball and reduced it to 3 years /$13.5M I dont want to think of how much his game will drop off at age 39 . Nevertheless its an OK deal .ITs about what hes worth .Everybody says he is worth $7M ?
