As an isles fan, keep it up, we love to see it!
Great offseason so far! They needed to get younger and faster which they did. Lou probably would have maintained the status quo meaning borderline playoff team again. First time I’m excited for the future in a while. Team is still a borderline playoff team but with a way better prospect pool and 2 first rounders in a strong draft next year.
The experts, particularly the Canadian hockey media, has been talking about Noah Dobson like he's Larry Robinson or something. He's a good player, no doubt, and I think will be better on the Canadiens than he was on the Islanders because he'll be the #2 instead of the #1, and he's better suited for that position. But I've seen a number of commentators say they're surprised that Islander fans aren't more upset about losing Dobson.
Maybe that's because Islander fans have seen a lot more of Dobson than the commentators have and weren't overwhelmed by what they saw while commentators can only see "6'4, right handed D, he scored 70 points" without ever really watching him play. Maybe there are subtleties to Dobson's game that are beyond what we dumb fans can see, but right now we can see a guy who, yeah, he's a good player, but he's not the all-world, all time great that he's all of a sudden become just because now he's a member of the great Montreal Canadiens.
As an isles fan I couldn’t be happier with this off season
I like the Habs but they’re not getting what they think they are. Feel bad.
Isles suck.
now trade quinn for schaefer and horvat
They identified Darche as their guy. John Collins is no joke he knew exactly what he wanted in the new GM. Ownership is fully supportive, willing to spend, and comfortable with letting him run the show. He is Bolstering this current roster with cheap, but possibly high reward players. I also think the vets in the locker room know Darche has zero attachment to any of them. I think they will be more motivated than they have been in the past. Lol 😂 he is also going to look to pile up young prospects and draft capital. The Training Camp is going to be highly competitive, you’re going to see NHL names on waivers and shipped to Bridgeport. Lou’s Country Club is closed, vets are going to have to fight for jobs. Pressure to perform is going to be real. The roster is overstocked, the kids are coming. Bottomline if you’re not hungry Darche is going to trade or wave you. Riding the AHL bus down in Bridgeport should be motivating. Same with ice time Patrick isn’t going to play, he has options and a GM that gets it. They aren’t as talented as most teams, but can they create the hunger that compensates for that. Barry did it, I believe Patrick can too. Happy to see Lane Lambert get the Seattle job. There wasn’t anything wrong with him either, it was the team!
Mathieu Darche may turn into a Bill Torrey who brought multiple Cups to Long Island.
Improve special teams…climb the standings
Mathieu Darche like the movies he made,,in trades or sign
Darche is on a tear. Dobson is awful in every zone
Let’s go islanders
Btw, Isles fans, how has Romanov been? I miss that guy.
Let's Go Islanders! Right path? Hell yeah. If you keep the content flowing, we will keep engaging.

LGI!
Let’s go Islanders!
Most exciting time to be an Isles fan since the 80s. No doubt
The isles finally got it right. Darche has not only made this team very competitive for this year, but more importantly, for the future as well. many top stars will now want to come to NY, & I dont mean Manhattan. thank you John Collins for getting it right. lets go islanders.
I'm so happy with Darche. He is switched on and also isn't scared to be transparent in front of cameras. I'm in shock we actually made a great gm hire and hope he's here for a long time
