1. Harris and Blitzer’s greatest success was the 22-23 season. But that may have been the result of having seasons with the top pics, due to substandard campaigns.

I have a hunch Fitzgerald is knowingly falling on the sword for this ownership.

What a disaster they have been!

  2. Front office wanting to put Gritz in the top 6 is very aggressive. He is not used to the NHL rink size. That alone is very concerning and I think very wishful thinking. He's gonna need time to adapt to the rink size and speed of the game. its asking a lot

  3. This press conference had like no effort put into it…it made me wonder if this could be some kind of negotiation play or bluff or something.

I kinda doubt this is it. They cant sign luke with this cap money

  4. I agree, Ace. We are not making big moves to get some more, big top players. It's not very promising to rely on Dadanov and Brown to play on the top 2 lines. LGD!

  5. What is Fitz supposed to say about the new forwards? They are realistically going to get chances in the top 6. With palat’s contract still on the books he can’t go out and get another top 6 guy so his hands are tied. You have to try to throw darts at the map and see if anything hits with the personnel you have on the roster.

  6. The sad part is the Devils "Reporters" never ask the hard questions. They're always softball questions with simple answer. Sometimes I wish the Toronto media would come in and rake Fitzy and the Devs over coals with some toughies.

  7. NJ to become a cup contender A trade Jonas and upgrade that position. B clear space Palat Mercer Upgrades.C. Trade with Vegas get Pavel or Hertl both would be nice trade out Palat Mercer.

  8. Fitz really needs to get some balls. This timid, nervous, Jerry Lewis schtick has to end. Take some prospects (Mercer, Casey or Nemec), and trade for Ryan McLeod. That's a small but important move to get a 3C.

Or use Mercer, Nemec or Casey, a first or two, or make it a 1st and 2nd, and trade for a winger like a Tuch or Robertson!!!

Or, make a team-altering move like shaking things up and trade Jack Hughes for Brady Tkachuk and a first.

Just get some balls, reach for the stars, and make shit happen you goofy, unfocused dweeb!!

  9. FIRSTLY, ACE, I hope you feel better (cold/allergies?) SECONDLY, I l don't always agree with you BUT I like you Ace. Here is some friendly advice for you and
other Devil fans. Make it easy on yourselves, come to grips that we are NOT a contender, not by a long shot. What we are is just another middling team.
We can HOPE to make the playoffs this year and then pray for a miracle. (getting out of the first round would qualify as a miracle). Please remember,
ALL the other teams are also working at getting better. Many will get better and better than us. Last year we got in the playoffs because everyone else
sucked worse than we did, which is also to say, that we did suck too. That magical 100 point season is long gone. That spell was broken immediately
in the off season after it. Best to forget it altogether. I believe signing Luke will be a case of buyers remorse. This team has a limited number (no names)
of star players. In my opinion, our top 6 really boils down to a top 3. Don't over estimate our "Core" (rhymes with Bore).
I'll tell you what we do have is many more overpaid under performing players. My prediction is Luke will ultimately be another.
And yet, the focus is Luke Hughes. Give as much money as we have left. Let all the other bad contracts perpetuate and hope that the "new blood" will
    somehow invigorate an uninspired franchise.
IF we are to look at Florida and what they do right, well, we don't do any of it right. Lousy uncommitted ownership. Clueless GM. Mercenary players and contracts.
Flimsy cohesion team spirit. Terrible tax destination and on and on.
I wouldn't say we are a sinking ship, but more of a rudderless drifting ship. And again, other teams are improving too. That is going to expose this house of cards as well. I can't get to excited or upset about it. I just hope they don't embarrass us too much this year.
Fellow fans,… we, as a franchise, all parts included, well,… we're just not that good.

  10. I’ve been a rider for Fitz and I think his additions for the most part have been above average but this is his last chance for me. This noncommittal building something attitude has to stop. We are slowly turning into the eastern conference Minnesota Wild a middle of the pack playoff team that just floats and watches their window slowly close. An insane thought because our window just opened two seasons ago. We want a cold drink and we keep getting warm fucking water. Lock up Luke, cut the dead weight spend the money on a top 6 winger and ice a team that can march in lockstep with the top teams in the league while our boys are in their prime. That future team shit is out the window

  11. Thx Ace, a great video. We share in your frustration, a complete vanilla trading season thus far. It seems that we're the only team that consistently does F-All at this time of the year. Super deflating. Keep up the good work 👍

  12. Bratt, Jack, Nico, Timo all can pot 25-40 goals.
    Noesen and Mercer 15-20
Daddy and Brown can suprise us with some depth scoring.
Defense is top 5 in the league
    Goaltending is very good
    Great special teams
There's reason to be optimistic. I believe with this roster rn they can be a top 5 team. Dougie healthy (if he stays) and Luke can run the league offensively from the backend. I'm not too worried about Luke's deal either.

  13. Have you watched the latest video on the Devils youtube channel about how Fitz was selecting players during the Draft this year? I swear this is the funniest sh1t ever. Now I know why he sucks at his job🤣

  14. This rumbling on by you and the Devils fans in the comments is not gonna change anything. I've come to grips with it and decided just to see calmly how it plays out. If the fans want this circus really change, they must act inside the Rock by either chanting "Fitzgerald out" every game especially if the Devils keep losing or simply not buying the tickets. The first solution is easier. Not sure it would work but some different actions rather than whining in the comments need to be done.

  15. I haven't analyzed every bit of the devils like most have, that have allowed themselves to be so critical of fritzzy. I mean, he inherited a dumpsterfire. It was the norm for the devils to be the bums and last place finish since, like what, 2013? Playoffs in 2012? Nothing until 3 years ago? Now yall are acting like the current administration likes to stay mediocre and sit on their thumbs? For this year specifically like the new guys i think are very good signings. The guy doesnt reach and spend money just because. We have Gritsyuk and Hameenaho on there way, with gritsyuk coming off of a very good KHL season. Just 3 years ago dude won silver in the olympics. Very well could be top 6. Then hameenaho coming of a good year as well signed 3 year deal i believe, played top 6 and did well in the world chsmpionship. To me it seems hes putting a lot of trust into his young guys. Or atleast okes that have high potential to making the team which atleast 1 of those 2 will play a roll this year mostly for sure,Arseni. The team has very very good young guys locked up, the moment you start building through free agency is when youll later regret. Im sure hes a bit gun shy from his meier signing when he signed him on a deal worth more than jacks and everyone thought that was it great for Fitzgerald great trade. Which hes done well but not enough for Fitzgerald to stretch outand reach on any other player that has a top 6 status. Hes done very well on making sure we have the payroll to sign everyone. Wasnt it just last year that people were saying that if they sign so and so then they wong have enough to sign bratt, eventually got it done, same thing with mercer. Not only that but he also was able to bring in Keefe, i mean thats absolutely huge. If they feel like they have a couple young guys coming up this year even then they also think they will fair quite well and deserve some good $$ the guy is very passive though. I understand some of the frustration with his low energy personality. But i mean god damn this team was an absolute dumpster fire prior to him taking the reins in 21' now they have had very good players for some time now andit just felt they needed a better coach and then tahhh daaa keefe. The guy has done a far better job building a team through their young guys than anyone in recent past. The guy is most definitely very passive and relies heavily on the guys around him. Lets see how well we are this coming season then i nay or may not be eatting my own words. LGD!

  16. Time to move on from Palat but no team is taking that on wout us eating some salary….be nice to add by subtraction there.

  17. Ace u r 1000% right, there is no whopper of a deal on tje horizon. There's not enough room cap wise n tje LUKE deal will stop him dead in his tracks.

  18. Yeah this press conference wasn’t too reassuring. Especially about taking the fucking holiday weekend off. Motherfucker this league is less than half American I believe. Get your ass to work and get us some players!!! I know you love dougie Ace but I think we have to trade him. He has more value in a deal than palat and he opens up more cap. With little space we have left and opening up some by trading him we should be able to sign Luke and trade for at least a 3C. I hope …

  19. Here's the thing … I think GM's get 5 years to grade them … Fitz has been GM for over 5 years now, I think if we don't progress this season, he's gotta be out

  20. You are spot on with your assessment. He is the most incompetent sports executive. He is an embarrassment to humans in general. I've been screaming this for 2 years. You and others continue to think this Jack ass of a GM is going to turn things around, but the truth is he is so far over his head in the job he holds, it's shocking. He is a complete laughing stock. We need an Adult GM immediately! Glad that you have finally come to Jesus and realized that Fitzgerald has no clue what he is doing. As for our roster, we are done, unless he is able to trade Palat nothing else will be added. Sadly this will be another frustrating season that will not end with a Cup. The Devils might not even win a playoff round. Hope doesn't win championships.
