  1. All the Kings men podcast suggested that kings were supposedly unwilling to pay Gavrikov top dman contract. Unfortunately Drew is no longer top Kings defensman and Gavrikov was. So I'm not sure what's the issue?

  2. I have no idea what Holland is doing. The game is getting faster and faster and the Kings have been getting faster and faster each year for the last few years, up front and on defense. Now Holland has made the Kings' defense the slowest in the league. First he trades one of his fastest defencemen, then signs the 2 slowest defensemen on the free agent list. And they have Edmondson who is one of the slowest already, and Drew isn't the skater he used to be. And to top it off, he signs one of the slowest and oldest forwards in the league. Like wtf? Why is he making this team slower and slower in todays game where everyone is faster and faster? Major step backwards in this offseason so far. Wow.

  3. Just about every major sports and hockey specific news publication have given Kenny boy a d/f for his off season.

  4. I believe the Kings are better for the short term but we are getting older and need to not overpay your average free agent. Need short term deals so we have the cap space to rebuild in a couple of years from now.

  5. Ceci Ceci Ceci Ceci Ceci… relax everyone. What was out the in the FA market? Not much. So the Kings paid him 4.5… ok fine. The Cap is going up, that’s fine. 4 years? Okay maybe too long but you have to look at it from the players point of view. Ceci probably believes he’s one of the better player as. RH, playoff experienced, big body player who is available in the market. He was probably getting a lot of calls from teams but he took the longest term at the dollar amount he liked. If we didn’t sign him, who the heck is available? Burns? Do we have enough to trade for a player without diminishing the pool of young kids and draft picks? No. So unfortunately, Ceci was the best option left. People say, well we should’ve kept Spence…. Ok but did he see any minutes in the playoffs? No. What’s the name of the game right now? DEPTH. I think the Kings are there now with depth and can roll with all lines.
Back on Perry? Grow the f$&@ up.

  6. Ceci is lousy at best, a liability ….I would have grabbed Dmitry Orlov who can at least Skate! And what happened to Bowen Byram – I thought the Kings were interested?!?! and heck we could have shown interest in Hague, I mean come on the D signings LA did are absolutely sad !!!

  7. Jim Hiller burnt out his starters and then play the entire roster. That’s why the King’s fault in all those games against Edmonton. It’s it. It’s the coaches fault not the players.

  8. Simple, it’s a mediocre franchise that has no desire to win. Look at the Dodgers and Lakers.. they bring everyone in and people want to play for those teams.

Mind you I know that there is no salary cap for those leagues.. but my point still stands. Those are successful franchises that are rooted in winning every year. Kings aren’t at that level unfortunately.

  9. Luc gotta go Bergevin too. They need a complete upper management overhaul.Hiller shld have been fired,Old Holland is a terrible modern day GM. Panic deals to address the Gavy loss to Dumoulin and Ceci are insane. To much term and salary and team is now older and slower .They shld have traded for Byram(age 24) Lauzon Preds etc. Team will regress soon and wldn't be surprised if Kempe bolts next to Vegas/NYR/ Avs etc..

  10. Don’t know if true regarding Gavi….but i heard NY has biggest Russian population of any state and that was appealing to his wife. There are a number of Russian players on NYR and traveling from NY to Russia takes about a day less than travel from LA to Russia. It just doesn’t make sense we wouldn’t sign Gavi for 7×7.

  11. Maybe we got the best we could? It’s possible there is a reason why big names don’t want to play here. Until that gets solved, we’ll keep having to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
