I still can't believe this kid dropped to us at 7. It is literally a miracle because when you look at the clips of him from Development Camp, the kid is unbelievable. Not only is he a sniper shooting at the goalie from the front of the net, if you watch how this kid mohawks you can see him scoring goals from behind net in a wrap around or on the sides. He reminds me of Crosby in that regard.. And he is stout for his size and I think he his confident and not afraid to rough if up, if necessary. I would put him on a line with Jeannot and Castelic, who would make sure the kid does not get punted around like Bedard of Chicago did his rookie year. Sounds like he is ready to play on Causeway Street right now. Hope his family and Sweeney gives him the green light!
Sounds like he's interested in signing now, despite initially being committed to BC for another year.
But I can't forget, Mitch Marner didn't debut in his draft +1 year because there was no point putting an impact player on a very bad team trying to tank for Matthews. He debuted the year after that, and I wonder if it isn't best for the Bs organization to follow that pattern. Tank for McKenna and then sign Hagens and Moore, and could be a heck of a wagon before the end of the decade.
