Et ce que Conor Timmins pourrait supporter en apportant les sabres à l’arbitrage. where would he be without Dahlin
He had a clear path to the NHL rolled out in red carpet and couldn’t cut it. If he is that arrogant still, just trade him and go after Swayman
Very common for newly acquired RFAs with arb rights to invoke them. They haven’t negotiated with their new team. Malenstyn did the same thing and signed before arb hearing. Expecting the exact same thing.
Oh now it’s the right call?
Any words on James Reimer?
Dude, Calgary/buffalo had a trade set but Byram/Calgary couldn't come to terms on a long term deal. Rfas have control, that's why adams should have signed or traded these players before it gets to this point
Keep Byram for now. See how the top 4 looks with Kesselring. Kevyn needs to pull off another Savoie/McLeod deal for a LW that can play on the top 2 lines. Of course, that’s if Terry will let him use the cap space, which is doubtful.
Hear me out….
I know the Pens, Rackell is 33, but he can still score.
Sabres should trade Byram & Krebs to the Pens.
We have a 4th line center to replace Krebs, & we have Ryan Johnson as well.
In the next 2 yrs or so, we have a winger in the AHL that can replace Rackell
The Sabres did a complete rebuild through the draft. They had the youngest team in the league the last two years in a row spending to the cap wasn’t gonna do anything because who are they gonna sign some journeyman player for five 6 million what’s he gonna do all he’s gonna do is prevent colleague and Benson and rookies from playingwhich doesn’t help the team rebuild
Another big nothing season. 15 in a row. Hockey heaven!
Kyrou is from the Sewage pit aka Toronto so he might come to Buffalo. I like the Neighbours for Byram idea. Is Calgary interested, as Zayne Parehk is pretty much NHL ready for a D spot , so I cant see them being interested in Byram. .
I hope A&K and Byram agree on a 2 year contract as that keeps the D nice and strong if Byram stays with Dahlin
Well, I see this whole thing as.. I think the sabres and Byram are in line with what he's worth… The sabres have other needs they would rather spend that money on… and offersheet would have blocked them from moving him until next years offseason… right now, I think they'll agree to a deal before the hearing and if nobody ponies up what they feel he's worth.. He'll start the year as a Sabre.. and probably be moved at the deadline. They've left enough room under the cap to resign him… it was worse before they moved JJ and later Clifton… Levi in 23 looked like the real deal.. but that season got derailed with injury and when he came back, UPL had actually stepped up.. Levi when you look at his numbers.. starts the year slow and after about 5 starts, gets to being the guy we went.. so far though, that injury killed the only chance he's gotten with the big club.. He had a pretty good year last year in the AHL (better than any year UPL has had with us at any level).. I feel if he gets and honest shot at it… UPL will be riding pine… and he has no leverage. he's a 10.2c guy so he's not offsheet eligible.. so his leverage is… sign and play.. or don't and don't..the cap numbers I think are related to how the top guys never made it to UFA status… I think the best free agent might have been Byram and he's restricted. That cupboard was pretty bare this offseason.
How about Matt Coronado?
Signing Byram to a 2 year deal that walks him to Free Agency, is likely going to cut his trade value in half.
We understand that the Sabres will likely trade him LONG before he becomes a UFA, but if anyone thinks that a team is going to trade a Top 6 player for Byram, knowing they are going to be in the same situation with him 2 years from now, is crazy!
It’s not going to happen. If Byram and his agent are smart, they’ll only sign for 1 year. Not only does that give the Sabres a little more leverage in a trade, but the opposing GM will know that he also has one more shot at a long term deal because Byram would still be an RFA for 1 more year.
Levi is too small. He will never be an NHL goalie. JV goalie at best. Trade him
As far as Kadri and possibly waiving his NMC or NTC to come to Buffalo, he is from London Ontario. While he surely grew up a Leafs fan, the possibility of finishing out his career fairly close to home MAY be enough to convince him. Doubt it, but it’s possible.
You have a it backwards. It's not that Lyons is blocking Levi it's that this is UPL's last chance. I think the reason Lyons was brought in was to challenge UPL and he does not handle challenges very well as we saw he didn't really start playing well until the net was his and Levi was sent down. I think it's more than likely Levi will start in Rochester and UPL will start the season well and UPL will face plant by Christmas and that is when you make the move and bring up Levi and have Lyons be the number one.
