The Habs are gonna be a menace on offense, give it 2-3 years when all our puppies get their ‘man strenght’ and we’ll be genuine contenders . I know we improved big time our offensive power, but we lost 3 pk specialists in Armia, Dvorak and Sasquatch Savard who acted as a 2nd goalie during penalty kills. Some kids will have to step up.
Some point during the preseason, I would like to see a 4th line of Blais-FloJack-Anderson……….imagine the forechecking these guys would dish out ?
Dach, when healthy is an absolute tank. We all have to keep in mind, he missed all of last season (2023-24) and when he got going this year he was good… just unfortunate he’s made out of tinfoil.
Lanie, refused surgery so he could come back to play with the team earlier, and as a result to that, we made the playoffs simply by him making our PP one of the best. I have faith in these two players I sure hope I’m right
Newhook-Kapanen-Laine has to be the third line.
Oh yeah. 100% bro! Improved right now, but man, next year? The next? I mean, bro, the freaking grocery cart ("chariot" like they say aoun' these parts, spit…) is ALMOST full if just a few guys like Hage do make it at some point in 2-3+ years for exemple, Kirby will impress some people I think so he'll be a top 6 talent for us/be resigned whether it's gonna be as a winger or pure center, that's the question.
When your team captain never EVER missed AN NHL GAME in his entire career so far, even in 22-23 when the lockerroom caught the god damn Black Plague that year (Yeah! it got medieval in that here lol) , Nick was still there being a monster, getting better, didn't matter if he had to make it work while centering a "first line" with AHL level wingers (there is a is a reason a certain Laval player has THAT contract, and never really played with the big club since that season)…
So ANYONE must be totally ok to play with ANYONE ELSE. Doesn't matter what "line" it is. Doesn't matter how you have to contribute, whether it's on a "4th line" or by NOT playing xyz # minutes +, you gotta be cool with it. period.
Doesn't matter if you're a guy like and paid like a PEZ (… Uhg. Leafs. Hope he can leave that place soon man), or like a Patty Laine, you have to be cool with it.
If not, that player will not play (if possible) and be traded out/not renewed when possible/appropriate for all parties.
Very simple rule and concept.
Guys like Gally and Mike are REALLY on top of things making sure everyone is on the same page + Martin SL too obviously. Savard… Can't really 'replace' that kind of guy in the room tbh.
If Anderson is moved to the "second line" while Kirby and Demidov have very few minutes elsewhere for some reason, THEY need to all be cool with it.
Speaking of, if Anderson is best suited for a "bottom six" type role, his next contract will have to reflect that if he'd like to stay with us, but even then he could still play on any line for any reason if needed, it's what I'm trying to say at least…

I agree 100% with the line of the forward group. It's what I would be doing as well. I'm not agree with the def pairing. The hate toward Matheson should stop. He is legit top 4. Carrier isn't. Love the guy. He is not top 4. Matheson-Dobson, Guhle-Hutson or Guhle-Dobson, Matheson-Hutson, it doesn't matter. Xehkaj/Struble-Carrier is the bottom pair.

Dobes stays as the backup and will actually push Monty at some point for starts. Fowler has/needs time to develop further. Get him a full season in Laval. Next year, Habs net should be his.

It wouldn't surprise me if they miss playoffs. They are a terrible team 5v5. Dobson should help with that. I don't think goaltending plays well either.

If Kirby Dach is going to be the 2C, he needs to learn how because he took a HUGE step backwards last year. Injury aside, I'd put him with Demidov and Gallagher. A veteran to help guide him through games when things aren't going his way. Newhook with Laine and Bolduc. Maybe some speed AND strength will help create some space for Laine.
