I just don't get why the Sharks make that trade, They could have got a useful asset back, like a 4th or 5th
People were smack talking the Benoit deal, and he’s worked out pretty well I’d say. This could work out the same sort of way, and he’s still young. Still room to develop.
Leafs have little toughness. They should try to swing a trade for Olivier
I bet Reaves will be happy to be closer to Vegas, he’s always visiting Vegas every summer. Yesterday he was at Top Golf signing autographs with Reilly Smith, today he will be with fellow Golden Misfits for a Q&A, and tomorrow he’ll play with other Golden Knights against the Las Vegas Raiders in a charity softball game!

I don't see how ANYONE can look at this trade and doesn't think Tre FLEECED the Sharks. Moving a 38 year old part-time winger for a 6'2, 210lb 24 year old defenceman for LESS MONEY and whose under team control next year when his contract expires is utter grand larceny.
reaves was equal to a bag of pucks. so to get a young BIG D! oh yeahhhh we can train him and make him a number 1 nhl D man. he will learn well.
As a Sharks fan I say we needed Reeves. We have the Young Kids that need protection!

As a Sharks fan, I wanna add my 2 cents. With the addition of Leddy and Orlov, there is a big logjam in the LD position. He was on the outside looking in and the idea is we are trying to open up roster spots for Dickinson (Vlasic buyout. Thrun trade.) Thrun just simply isn't good. At this point of his career, he is simply a dude. He doesnt process the game well and is known for brain farts. Bottom pair or 7D. Getting Reaves is a nothingburger for us. I almost would have preferred Future considerations though lol

I’m not mad at this deal! At all! Love Reeves and thank him for his services ❤️. But now in the NHL if your a enforcer you need to get points and stay outta the box, he cost the leaf’s a ton of goals this season where they couldn’t dig out of a hole. His age is catching up to him.

I would have loved to experiment with reaves on the top line like Dustin byfuglien did in 2010. Big guy hitting the other teams top d men. Not saying it would for sure work but would been fun and interesting. And you know bennett wouldn't have got off the hook for that elbow.

It was an treat to watch Mr Reaves in his time on the Rangers. Gave them a presence that was much needed. He will help the Sharks.

Did you mention how he beat Arber Xhekaj, fresh off the bench chasing a long shift tired Xhekaj? Maybe not the right way to beat an opponent, but sure was the safest and the smartest way to do it, though.
Reaves was brought in to fight, but forgot how to fight, skate, and agitate. This trade is our garbage for their garbage. At least Toronto saves 300K from the cap.

New subscriber and Sharks fan here. Grier is definitely not done. Sharks have money to spend and also 2 first round picks next year. He's definitely working something out but I think he's waiting until after development/training camp to pull the trigger on a trade.
