Great assessment. 👍
Wish it was a two-way contract, B's could tuck him back in the AHL to keep him from getting rusty,
and
keep prospects' development going as a reliable confidence builder to the grind out games.
Because his absence will affect the P Bears' development.
Similar to Korpisalo last season – no, not the best goalie – yet, never had an opportunity to reach the potential he had
concerned DiPietro won't see his peak in the NHL & regress if he's sitting on a bench.
But, hopefully we have better asset management this season
The AHL MVP Baz award winner absolutely deserves his shot.
Yes, his lateral movement needs work but love watching him POP 💥
back up right into his angles, quick recoveries…
POPS!
already in position. That is excellent discipline and muscle memory
I still think there's another roster level goalie coming in.
Dipietro isn't equipped to handle starter if Jeremy goes down or gets traded 😊
he's got to double his speed to keep up in the NHL
And if that roster level goalie I'm looking for, doesn't take a two-way contract, Bruins carry 3 goalies, Which leaves somebody rusty, or in line to be traded.
Not going to talk about Sway.
Because this is about celebrating Michael DePietro!
And you did a great job.
Best of luck to him!
Who knows?
we could have another Tim Thomas on our hands!
I said he'd be the last goalie under 6 ft to win a cup.
Chara offset his height!
Dipietro is 6 ft so he's got an inch on Tim!
Can't argue with success
🏆
Yea I though this one would be of interest to the Rain man. Thanks cort for the snapshot and I'm still wondering if Korpisalo is out of the conversation or if he can be made to go to the P-Bruins instead of Michael. How long did it take Swayman to develop?
Do you think he can make the team?
Saw him play in Providence 3 times, I go about 12 times a year, he's quick and won 2 of 3 and his loss was 2 to 1. He is a bit small but he looked good from what I saw and was laser focused, even if I may have been a bit cloudy by the end of the 3rd. 😁🍺Keep your chins up folks.
Crazy. Can you imagine if you were given a "shot" in the NHL and it's 3 games over 3 seasons? LOL
He has done well in Providence and NOW is the time to try him out. If Korpisalo wants a ton of minutes he can either go somewhere else or go to Providence and come back if DiPietro fails. IDK if the 2 mil we create by trading Korpisalo is worth the risk considering the possibility of injuries but Korpisalo has to be the team guy here in this situation and be patient. He will perhaps shine in Providence and get a solid rep again or Dipietro fails or Swayman gets injured and he will be very needed. If Swayman stays healthy, DiPietro is solid, then IF Korpisalo can shine in Providence he may get the trade he needs to try and reignite his career.
Taking into consideration that Edmonton is pretty much a goalie away from winning the Cup, which trade scenarios involving our goalies would make sense (if any) in your opinion, and what could we get in return? Cheers
Luv this kid. His compete level is awesome. He took the team on his back in the AHL playoffs and then ran into the Capitals AHL team. They literally went after him, the physical shots he took in the crease were ridiculous. Sadly our young D core did nothing to stop it and he got injured. If the rumors on the Internet are true in that the Bs are going after McDavid and McDavid likes the Bs, Sweeney should throw this kid any deal to avoid giving up guys like Zellers, Moore and even Lysell. I think this kid is more than a back up. He is confident and that is more than 99 percent of life. He could tear it up in the NHL and Oilers can't ask for much because McDavid is at the end of his contract.
