I think this would be good, but what if the goalie coach made oilers bad. So idk right now. But I if skinner is bad then yes.
Yo Oilers fans. You really think you have goalie problem..seriously last 3 games mcdavid had 1 goal believe there was 12 minutes also left in that game an no emotion from captain. Next 2 games 0 goals from the best player in league .Oilers fans scared to death to hold mcdavid accountable. mcdavid doesn't have the Jordan bird Brady lemueix gretzky killer instinct gene .hes shown hes not leader 1 goal last 3 games generational talent maybe champion dont think so .best player in world dont get shut out 2 most important games. Let’s not forget that Skinner and Pickard have been great for us in the playoffs at times too. I’d like to get a goalie coach squad that can maximize the potential of our current guys so we can focus the cap on helping 97 and 29.
Wait for a goaltending coach to be hired. Watch silovs in preseason in Vancouver. If you feel that he is an upgrade over pickard trade for him (late round pick) or just wait for him to be on waivers. No need to rush it now.
Only Sorokin will give us what we need for a cup.

I’ve been in favour of picking up Silovs but I would hate to give up Skinner. Not sure if it’s a good 1:1 trade. So then I don’t know how that trade works.
It’s all good and fine to want Šilovs to play for the Oilers. Yet his record is mixed, with an OK 2024 NHL postseason and very good 2025 AHL postseason, but a not-great 2024-25 NHL regular season (wins over the Blackhawks, having stopped 30 of 32 shots during a 2-1 regulation loss to be then-future Utah Mammoth and all 4 of Kevin Lankinen during in November 7–3 lost to the Oilers [in stark contrast to ugly losses in his remaining starts]).
Last regular season Stan Bowman’s Habs’ counterpart, Kent Hughes, after multiple of the losses by goalie Cayden Primeau, waived that goalie, with that goalie having not been claimed via waivers on his way down to the AHL. KH brought up from the Laval Rocket Jakub Dobeš, who undeniably last regular season outperformed Šilovs. It no doubt is too soon to tell if Dobeš well into this putting regular season continue his relatively good play but there’s no doubt that I see more upside to him than I do with Šilovs.
So why did the Habs this off-season acquire Kaapo Kahkonen? Maybe to provide insurance were Sam Montembeault or Dobeš go down to injury for at least one game.
