  1. Why does anyone think marner from toronto think he owes us anything. Hes an employee his contract ended he got a better job. Thsts what it bouks down to.

  2. Yes mathews score but he owes marner for 70 percent of hos goals. We will see if or how mathews really is

  3. Look Marner was paid very well in Toronto, and he became a seasonal player that could cut it in the playoffs. He was given 9 years to get it right and now he is gone. Mathews was not alot better, but his contract is still good. He needs to also become more potent in the playoffs. The Stanley Cup winning teams ,Florida, Tampa, Vegas for example are big, gritty, grinding teams with players who have good hockey sense, add great goal tending and you have a formula for success. TheLeafs have had ample opportunities to move up in the playoffs but as we 😅all know failed miserably. The rebuild has traded for gritty experience players Taney, Benoit, Roy, Carlo etc but they are not there yet. Maybe next year as they say , approaching 60 years of waiting. FYI every original 6 team except the Leafs, since 1967 have won a Stanley Cup. Beyond embarrassing.

  4. Who cares. He moved on. He s making 12 mill x 8 yrs. Thx for your service goodluck to your future.

  5. The carjacking was the final straw but he wasn’t cut out to be here. He has been the odd one out since the start not on skill but just in his attitude.

  6. He loves Toronto, but cant stand the pressure. In that sense its hard, but the money and a new scenery is what makes him happy knowing he will not have the same pressure as in Toronto.

  7. The fans’ choice to cheer or boo him upon his return as a Golden Knight will expose the true nature of the Toronto market.

  8. Treleving was the wrong pick as GM. Why, because he let tkachuk and Gaudreau leave for nothing. The same with not showing Marner the appreciation he deserves because he was the Leafs best player. Should have reopened him a year ago. Instead they are all in love with Matthews, tearing the C off Tavares to give him. Without Marner how many goals does Matthews have ? Leafs will go nowhere in the playoffs now

  9. Man shut the hell up. It's ridiculous headlines and commentaries like this that led to this guy leaving. I'd rather Hayes and all you idiots left rather than Marner. Get a life guys.

  10. Mitch Marner leaving the Toronto Maple Leafs is akin to the same escape plan Andy DuFrense used in Shawshank Redemption… he's FREE now. FREE from the grip of Toronto media, FREE from the hateful and demented Toronto fan base… FREE. Now flush the toilet and get on with your day.

  11. Look if McDavid cannot put his team entirely on his back to win the cup, you can bet that Marner cannot either. This isn't a Marner issue guys

  12. What if Treliving did not get to make a splash in free agency becayse Toronto has become a Team top talent players do not want to go to? Seems like they were not on any star players list from the reporting that crossed my screen. This would mean the only way to get talent in there is via trade assuming the player in question does not have a no trade clause or limited no trade clause. Poetentially the hole left by Marner will not get filled with a legit top 6 forward. It is not like the Leafs are swimming in prospects. Does not look good.

  13. He’s gonna make more money suffering a lot less harassment. Oh no he regrets the decision already.

  14. I'm a Leafs fan and I don't like half the fanbase. As though the leading scorer, regular and post season, was the sole problem. Dumping garbage on his lawn? Putting his address on social media? Yup. I'd leave too.

  15. He wants to win a cup and it would not happen in Toronto. The leafs put far too much on Mathew’s being the hockey god. He is a good player but not at the money he gets.

  16. With the very little space given in the playoffs, Marner's style of play does not work when you get to the post season. Numerous examples prove this and this, in my opinion, is why he is no longer here. In regards to the Leafs as a team, the coaching staff should be working with them with on how to keep their confidence once a goaltender goes down. When Stolarz went down in the Florida series, everything changed with their confidence and you could see it. Numerous examples in the last few years prove this too.

  17. Every coaches first locker room speech this season: “I’m sick and tired of hearing about what a great team the panthers have -screw ‘em. This is your time.”

  18. He was stoked to get out of that shithole Toronto and the dumbest fan base in all of sports

  19. This guy in the blue suit 👔 is sounding butt hurt. Marner leaving ain't that deep! Mitch💭WHAT IF THEY DO IT WITHOUT ME🫢🤣 Oh please! Fix your toxic fan base an then maybe you can keep talent. All that talk about needing a change an now that it happens, this media guy is crying about how he dont have to answer his questions no more. 😂✌🏼🍁

  20. Like a Knife thru Fucking Butter, Marner had Zero problems cutting away the Leafs!!!

  21. Cowan? Give me a break! He's definitely not elite. Maybe trade him to Dubis in Pittsburgh for Rust. That could be good. But Cowan a line isn't going to do anything.

  22. Not a Marner fan,
But the guy had to get out of Toronto for his own mental health, when was the last time Marner had a smile on his face while dealing with the Toronto media 🤷‍♂️
