  1. No. The rebuild is not done. Not even close to being done. Be generous and say half the guys they have drafted so far don’t pan out, or worse none do. They have older players they need to replace after next season, Pelech and Pulock and some point, the bad contracts of Mayfield and Engvall. Drouin and Palmieri are stop gaps. They aren’t done rebuilding?! Are you insane?!

  2. 0:54 I do. Sports writers are so desperate in the off season for a story, they turn to fabricating click bait. I've tracked the progression of the fables too many times to believe there isn't some collusion between the writers. It typically goes like this:
    1) Some writer 'divines' a possible trade of a big name player.
    2) Writer uses slick terms like "I believe", "highly probable", "most certainly was" talk amongst teams.
    3) Next writer up reports this as a "trade rumor".
    4) Next writer talks about 'rumored' teams involved.
    5) Everyone jumps in with their opinion.

In the end, they all get something "hot" to write about. They get lots of reads, the sport gets attention, and everyone is happy. I'm sure Sorokin's agent explained that all the nonsense is how the machine operates during the offseason. This stuff keeps eyes and minds on the sport during the off season. I think if players did more podcasts, etc, these rumors would fade away.
Think I'm imagining it all? What would you guys have talked about if this ridiculous rumor didn't exist? I don't mind it at all. The industry isn't called "Sports Entertainment" by accident.
