Super Mario is the reason I love hockey. I grew up in California, so hockey was not a huge sport. However, my family and I went to the Pens vs the Canucks at the Cow Palace. The game was to see if Northern California could love hockey. The Sharks were founded one year later. Anyway, I had no idea what to expect at that fateful game. The game started and I saw this player wearing 66. I didn't know who he was then, but it was like watching God on skates. I became a Pens fan that day and have rooted for them ever since.

I met the goat and most awesome, humble human being and I also got to meet Tom Borasso and his daughter, Kevin Murphy and Kevin Park from our chiropractor Lee Newman and Valerie Zipae . My mother was a patient and close friend of Dr Val. Without Mario the penguins wouldn't even be a team in Pittsburgh anymore. Mario also started his foundation for sick children. If not the back and injuries and cancer battle on his body he would undoubtedly be the all time greatest of all time. He's also been instrumental in the development of Crosby and Malkin and hiring perfect coaches and management since he bought the team.
