Eh not excited. I mean what are we really talking about. Dude might be a solid NHL 3rd line player by 2030? He could be a solid addition to the team in the future, but lord knows he'll likely make an impact on this team once it becomes Knies team instead of Matthews team and this team should have been in the win now mode, not the rebuild mode.

The Leafs are in need of bigger players on one wing and they need at least one nasty Sasquatch on defence. It would be great if the Leafs could land a nasty Sasquatch for one or both wings. That's not an easy billing to fill.
The Leaf's forwards could use some nasty help. But… Trev needs to fix the defence first. The Erik Karlsson Leaf dream will fade quickly if there is any truth to that rumour. Another team will step in and offer twice what the Leafs are presenting in a heart's beat. Karlsson is older and he's now prone to making stupid choices leaving himself unable to fulfill the role of defence man without a stay at home elite baby sitter on one of his flanks.
If the Leafs did actually manage to land Karlsson then Morgan Rielly's role is diminished. Karlsson is at least a little more responsible when it comes to making the choice to pinch. In the last two years Morgan has lost his touch and his ability to read the game in front of him responsibly. It was bad enough four and five years ago. Now it's looking like Morgan is chasing highlight reels and embarrassing himself in that process.
Karlsson is faster than Rielly. Would the Leaf's dressing room be able to manage the obvious issues such a trade scenario presents?
I'd bet that there are, at least, three teams in the NHL who would go out of their way to block any hope of Karlsson putting on a Leaf's jersey.

Holinka is 6'2" right shot center, good stats, maybe a 5th round pick but looks like he could be a decent player in NHL, this is a video worth making and I'm happy to watch. GLG

I think it's great that you are highlighting some a little less known players that has potential to make it to NHL. As some living in Sweden I don't really follow all the minor leagues in USA/Canada, also it's hard to know who belongs to what NHL team even if I did. So I appreciate this very much and I hope you continue bringing interesting players to our attention.

I'm a Leafs fan in Edmonton. My daughter is a huge Leafs fan too, so having Holinka on the Oil Kings made those games a lot more interesting for her. We went to a bunch of games this year. The seats we had would probably cost as much as my house at a Leafs game in Toronto. 😂 In one game we had Holinka and Gavin McKenna celebrate right in front of us. We were at all the Medicine Hat games and saw McKenna score a ton. I think he'll be the real deal because he always seemed to pour it on and bury the Oil Kings in the dying minutes, from what I remember anyway.
