  1. So once we are rid of Jarnkrok and Kampf their replacements are Joshua and Roy that is a BIG upgrade!
Only problem is Macelli is the only top 6 replacement for Marner so far lol.

  2. The knock with DJ is he loses the spark. You can clearly see it when something shifts in his head and he plays to his potential

He even said in an interview last he didn’t like hockey growing up and started late in his teen years. Hard for those types to just turn it on like a switch, but no doubt he is extremely talented well beyond what his numbers suggest. Wish him luck.

  3. So the 4 locked spots are Knies, Matthews, Nylander and Tavares.
Its likely that they have created real competition. Robertson, McMann, Cowan, Roy Laughton, Domi, Maccelli, Jarnkrok, Kampf, Joshua, Lorentz, Pezzetta, Boyd, Groulx, Lettieri is at least 15 forwards fighting over 8 spots (RW1, LW2, and bottom 6.)

Maybe they dont have to trade em until they decide whose in and whose out. i think a few of em could sneak through waivers as well.

  4. Sad Canucks fan… he’s really good we never gave him a chance to rebound from his health issue.

  5. Dakota Joshua is the kind of player that’s just impossible not to like. Trust me, you’ll get it in a few months.

Trust me, Dak is worth every Penny of that contract. The Canucks just literally can’t afford it.

  6. He had 197 hits in 57 games last season and 245 hits in 63 games the season before.
Even if he only gets 20 points he is still worth it.
    I already like him!

  7. As a Canucks fan I am pissed, as someone who likes teams that wear blue (except for Tampa), this was about as good as losing Dak could be

  8. This move is validation of watching Marner’s cap hit go bye-bye. So many depth players that the Leafs lost or couldn’t move on with money tied to the core 4.

  9. They're not done for sure. The overwhelming emotion is entirely centered on not having MM. We can Definitely improve massively before the next trade deadline! I'm betting on Treliving.

  10. Trade Kampf & Jarnkrok for a 1st or 2nd.
    Sign Robertson and use Cowan..
    =~4.6M cap space.

Play season and wait for Domi's value to inflate , playing beside Mathews…

Trade Domi and McMann for Jason Robertson at trade deadline ..

So easy to say… Now get it done TreyTrey ..

  11. Hopefully there not done , definitely some danger in trying to build a team to match Florida when there’s no guarantee you get them as a dancer partner then get trounced by Tampas PP .. like is there a world where a skilled team just dominates it obviously didn’t work the last 9 yrs but , because of the cap situation, there wasn’t a lot of depth to support the growing and developing core …. I luv the acquisition but the leafs aren’t better without Mitch Mariner.

  12. I really like this trade especially since it's only for a 4th for a draft 3yrs from now

Top 6 got slightly worse but bottom 6 got way better & because of that I do see them doing slightly worse then they did last season but about the same playoff wise

So honestly right now I think the move should be trading Kampf, Jarnkrok & Rielly (one can only dream lmao) and perhaps try to trade for one of Laferriere, Kadri, McCann or Kreider

Everyone talking about trading for Eric Karlsson.. please god no!! Lol 140 turnovers? Listen we already got Rielly who got 99 turnovers ffs

  13. Canucks fan here, you guys are going to love Dakota Joshua. Brings a lot of character, and is surely going to be a fan favourite. Please treat him well.

  14. I'm going to stop reading comments, can't tell if people are morons or trolls, but the amount of apparent 'fans' complaining about the Leafs roster IN JULY is psychotic

  15. Dak's a good player who probably had an off-year last season, it's just that the Canucks don't have cap space and this was a salary dump to shore up the centre position. In an ideal world, the Canucks would have Silovs backing up Demmer and no Lanks, and had cap space to play with without shipping Dak off.

If you're raving about how shipping a 4th for Dak is a home run by projecting how much teams would pay if he was a UFA, then wouldn't there have been more takers for him and the Canucks would have fetched a 2nd…?
