Lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan here. It's heartbreaking comparing the Wings to the Panthers. The gulf is simply unbridgeable. And it goes well beyond the players. Never gonna see the cup hoisted in Detroit in my lifetime.

Also, the Panthers didn't get much respect coming into the playoffs. I know that cuz in my hockey pool, ppl weren't exactly fighting over Panthers players, and that's why I had a chance to scoop up 7 players in the mid to late rounds of my pool…
I think about the greatest NHL players of all-time (Valeri Kharlamov and Herb Carnegie not included since Valerie was never allowed to play by the Russians Herb was black). For me Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe, Beliveau, Hull, Ovi and Sid the Kid . All have won at least one Cup. Does McDavid have to win one Cup for his legacy?

Just watched some of the Stanley Cup celebrations, swearing in front of children. I’d say it’s fair to call the Panthers the “lack of class of the NHL”. Disgusting.

When you market hockey to a newbie. You say the Panthers. Its chippy, its skilled, its tough, its entertaining and its a TEAM with funny media moments. There are faster teams, but Florida has it all
You guys really need to stop complaining about state taxes. Florida was bad for a long time and nobody ever said a word about it. Even during Tampa bays run nobody said anything. Florida is also not the only state without state taxes. I love it that the Panthers are Oilers soul crushers!!!!
