  1. You guys are all dreaming. McDavid will play his whole career in Edmonton. He needs a break, that's all. That's why he's put a pause on a contract extension. The Oilers rule the Western Conference. Sometimes it's better for a team to climb slowly to the top. I remember in the late 1980's and early 1990's the climb was even more slow for the Detroit Red Wings. The Oilers are playing in a league with 32 teams. Those Red Wings had somewhere between 26 and 30 teams. Still a difference of between 2 and 6 teams. McDavid will not leave Edmonton because there's unfinished business there and they are so close to winning it all. Maybe just one or two more good deals and they got the Cup. People don't understand how hard it is to win in the NHL. Look at the Bruins, they won a record 65 games two years ago and where are they now? Worse than the Canadiens and the newly renamed Utah club called Mammoth. The Bruins are nowhere in any discussion, just two years after winning 65 games! Now with the NHL playoffs, the Oilers just need to learn a bit from those Red Wings in the 1990's and if they can they will win one with McDavid. I wouldn't be surprised if it's next year or the year after. It took the Capitals 13 seasons to win it with Alex Ovechkin. McDavid has played 10 years and most of those years the Oilers sucked. So if you can see what's I'm saying about a slow climb, then you people have to be realistic with the Oilers chances for the next few seasons. I seriously doubt McDavid is going anywhere aside from Edmonton.

  2. If he wants to leave, it will be a Marner situation. Will be a sign and trade, or trade for his rights. Edmonton won't let him go for nothing

  3. he cant take 20% like all players of the cap , when the cap goes up to 114 million in 2027 he could be making over 20 million a year lmao yea good luck oilers or anyone who wants to sign him long term ,cant wait to see fans crying and wondering why they cant sign a good goalie or dmen lmao just bewildered and have the mcmuffin contract blinders on lmao

  4. If McJesus was a Free Agent, teams would move heaven to get cap space to sign him for basically anything he wants. All 32 teams would do this…

  5. SERIOUSLY WHY ARE YOU STILL DISCUSSING THIS CRAP, GO BACK TO TALKING ABOUT MARNER ALREADY ….. 32 teams and you ALWAYS blub on about the Oilers ….

  6. Everyone knows McDavid will never sign in Toronto but this channel keeps trying to push it whenever they can. Yet they'll accuse others of click bait 😂

  7. Yes, Connor is going to Toronto. That's a dream, still a dream…will always be a dream. Connor is staying, he will retire as an Oilers.

  8. If he ends up in a tax free state playing….then the NHL needs to force a shut down at the next CBA and hold tight until they remove the NTC and they need to have a salary cap after tax.

  9. This offseason has been a disaster for the Oilers. Connor would be nuts to re-sign with them. He wants to win!

  10. McDavid wants to win a cup for Toronto if he doesn't get it done in Edmonton this year

    Its on you Edmonton

  11. You guys… I know it's slow time for hockey news and you have to drum up clicks and content like this video. This is evident from two things: a podcast about McDavid leaving Edmonton and playing for your cherished Toronto Leafs, and the other video that dropped was entitled "Steve Shaved."

  12. I find this topic a bit disingenuous, many teams cannot afford Connor McDavid. Oilers are number one on the list and his running mate and friend has signed, so why can you not acknowledge this. Face it, it is very unlikely!

  13. Mcdavid and Crosby won’t leave their teams. They aren’t selfish, ungrateful sucks like poor little unappreciated Mitchy.

  14. he's gonna end up in Tampa…

The Tampa Bay Lightning are projected to have a salary cap of $104 million for the 2026-27 season. This is an increase from the 2025-26 season's $95.5 million cap. The team is also projected to have around $64.775 million in cap space after accounting for existing contracts.

  15. Gonna be strange to see McDavid not win a title in his career. I couldn’t fathom seeing Michael Jordan not winning 1 let alone 6.

  16. Better question, where should Connor play in 2025? Edmonton is NOT the team that can make a run at being in the 2026 Stanley Cup final. Edmonton should worry about building a team for the Cup after Connor has left. Edmonton would be better off to trade him NOW, they will never win a cup with him, just like The Leaf's will not win a cup with Matthews.

  17. You people are sick , all of you . Go enjoy your summer and stop with the BS or find something legit to talk about . The delusions never end in maple queef land

  18. the coach screwed the team twice. In the playoff he separated both MC and Drai on different lines to spread the love and that just destroyed the offense and goal scoring opportunities.

Panthers got lucky the first year, but saw this coming this year and tool advantage of this to mop the floor again, this time harder with Edmonton.

The defense of the team was semi present 20% of the time and Poor Skinner had to stop goals that should have not even reached him had the defense done their freaking job.

Now they got rid of Perry, Kane 2 players that when motivated can do good plays.

They resigned Bouchard to yet another stupid contract. The guy is there 20% of the time and can be easily be outskated 100% of the time. They could have sent him away and get another better goalie.

This team is so mismanaged it's not even funny. Mc will want to win the cup before he retires and i have said it many times. It's not going to be in Edmonton. The squandered 2 chances. Mc and Drai will get fed up and move on and Edmonton will fade into nothingness again.

  19. If Connor McDavid ever leaves Edmonton, it will be as a sign trade, he’ll never ever see free agency in my opinion

  20. While there is a very good chance Edmonton keeps McDavid, if he doesn't, he probably goes out East to either Carolina or Toronto.

  21. Sharks need too win a cup because that dufus bettman is hell bent on making teams in the south on being successful and the Sharks haven’t won yet and He could help out cellabrinni and smith.

  22. Pipe dream scenario since you guys have been saying Sid should leave…. Penguins use the year to develop younger guys, get the 1st overall becsuse its been 21 years so it is scheduled. Then use the 50mil in cap dpace next season to load up with Connor +. Then they have Sid, McJesus, Mckenna whoever else they sign and an entire swath of young guys there, comming and still armed with 3 years of insane draft picks to keep it rolling.
also, I don't think hes leaving Edm.

  23. Only team where McDavid has a better chance to win the Cup than his present team is the Panthers. So he’s staying with Edmonton.

  24. Hear me out..
    McDavid-Raymond-Kasper
    Larkin-Kane-Debrincat

    Bear
    Buchelnikov

  25. he is going to ask minimum 14 million a season. and thats the least he will sign for lol
