Perreault
Zban must go to rw, play some kids, move out stale players at deadline, if that includes zban and panarin , and oh god please soucy…so be it. Hopefully big free agent off season.
I believe the Rangers should also be looking at Brett Berard: to take a big step forward.
Berard now has 35 NHL Games under his belt; with….6 Goals and 4 Assists.
…and with the relentless hard working effort Berard put forth, he has earned a shot up there.
Let us not overlook Berard.
I'm not down on Perreault. Just feel like he has to get stronger, and get a bit more experience at the AHL level, for a few months.
I think some Rangers fans are getting ahead of themselves, with Perreault.
Give Berard and Othmann 20 – 30 games to start off the season. Then evaluate how they're doing, and how Perreault is doing in the AHL
Mika as Center means we can have Othmann and Perrault both in the lineup and figure out where they belong. If Mika is wing and not movable by the TDL we need to trade either Othmann or or Perrault.
What do y'all have against saucy? He's hardly played
I don't see Otthman as an NHLer. Choppy skater and poor hockey sense. Adam Sykora is just 20. Relentless. Tenacious. I think his chances of making the team are as good as Othman.
Berard will be fine, he needs ice time. He is definitely a top 6 forward!
How about Faffy stepping up after getting that beautiful contract??
So if this is a transitional year with the goal to be cup contenders next year they've got to get them and Berard in the line up. You can't have all 3 unless they trade 1 of their forwards but this is the year and they may surprise us.
Also I do not agree they need to get another scorer. I understand we lost Kreiders 25-30 goals but they need is tough, power, edgy players to fill the roster to help create space for their scorers to score. There's still Miller, Bread and Mika and Laffy who will have a bounceback 25+ goal season if he stays healthy…speaking of which I hope something got through to him. He strikes me as a lazy player who will continue to underwhelm until he puts in some honest work with his skating, turning, acceleration etc.
"You just don't do that to a young player (play them at their off-wing). They did that with Lafreniere (played him at RW) and look what happened." Umm, he had the best season of his young career and was rewarded with a nice long big boy contract? When he was slow to progress for the first three seasons of his career, he was used primarily at LW. I think you whiffed on that point.
Time should have been spent talking about Berard as well. I believe in all three players, tbh, but I think Berard will score the most NHL points in 25-26 if I were a betting man.
Brodzinski proved last year with some consistent playing time that he can score. Has a great shot and likes to SHOOT
Start Perreault in AHL, he can use the minutes and get experience on PP. Othmann should play every game leading up to trade deadline. If he doesnt play well, trade him for best offer and move on from him. Logjam at LW, have to cut ties with someone. If teams out of playoff contention, trade panarin at deadline as well.
Importsnt is that Perreault and Othman becomes 13+ minutes night for night. Let them make misteaks so that they can lern and grow. Stop trading for old players. Let the kids play.
We have some big question marks going into the season. I think it’s honestly a coin flip of how we end up doing. It’s tough because everyone wants us to make the playoffs, but we also need to develop players. The balancing act of that is much harder than people realize. I don’t think many fans and followers have realistic expectations or outlooks on how player development actually works.
Busy off season that got no one teams a waste devils and islanders will be ahead of them
Maybe instead of jerking the kids around, they should have been here all last year, then there's Culley being a Healthy Scratch for 1 game and getting screwed out of an $80k bonus .. .
Everyone bashing Laff, ask yourselves WHY WASNT HE ON THE PP ??….
