That sens mock trade is comical. Forget the 1st and a prospect, I wouldn’t do Jensen for EK65 straight up.
EK65 is already on the Pens. I think you meant to put Sens not Pens, Mike. Just a friendly heads up.

The best fit for Karlsson is Buffalo. I think that team makes the most sense. He would be great in Dallas too. Ottawa, Carolina, and Detroit are dumb ideas. All of the suggested offers you mentioned are stupid and would not get it done.
Best teams for Karlsson are Carolina and Dallas. Best fit is Carolina and most need is Dallas.

I like that package from Dallas. Borque is the best player on offer and the Pens could probably get a marginally good return on Ilya.

EK, imo, is much better than Gois…. for Carolina. We saw that in the playoffs. Carolina's biggest problem was a dman getting the puck out of their own end, and creating something with the first pass which EK is still very good at!! If Caolina dumps Gois…… in the trade, add a 1st of theirs(they have tons bc Rantenan) so, a 1st & 2nd in 2026 and mid level prospect =Deal! They keep both dmen, still have their own 1st & 2nd Pens get what they want.
Dallas desperately needs EK too. Bourque is a very good start. With a 1st, but not sure if they have that bc Rantenan Deal, than their best prospect & another young strong dman or player whose ceiling is still high may convince Dubas. Pens get youth now vs draft and Dallas gets the offensive dman who can move the puck so well= win/win
Detroit, no Stevie Y NEEDS to do something big or he may be done. So, how they can promise a top 15 is unsure but a 2026 top 15 as their key is a great start. They'll have to do better after that which they can and should and Stevie Y knows that but doesn't want to. ??????
Ottawa, they put bodies in front of the net and EK loves that. If they get him, watch for a 65-70 point year! Pens will want a talented young player (preferably L dman) now or near NHL with a 1st 2026 to get this done. Ottawa with EK's return, his getting ready to represent Sweden again, he'll be at his best and Ottawa will then surprise the east! They need him, so Steve S go for it and its a win/win again.
Tough tough decisions but there's only 1 EK and lots of teams that need him Mike. The team that gives up a bit more of what the Pens want/need will get him. Up the offers slightly more guys, almost there.

Dubas should keep Karlsson for one more year. Trade EK next summer for better return and retain 50%. Then someone would give up 1st rounder + mid-prospect
I think EK65 will play for the Sens again, but only after his current contract either expires or is bought out.
