Raymond: He had a great year last year, and still underperformed to what I think are his full capabilites. Raymond has the tools to be a 100 point player at some point in his career. Dunno if it happens this season. I'm actually expecting a little less than I was last season, but I still think, barring injury, he'll be in the 80-85 point range.
Copp: This one's interesting. He seemed to really start to pick up his play right around the time he got injured, so we got just a taste that he might be able to do more. I'd love to see him have a bit more consistent offense and he's gotta get better on the PK this year. He was fine on the PK two seasons ago, and I just have no explanation as to how he, and all the Wings penalty killers, were so incredibly, historically bad on the PK. Hopefully he has a good season from the jump. If not, I wouldn't mind sending him out to free up a roster spot for a call up.
Gustafson: Oh boy. I was told he was Ghost with slightly less offense and slightly better defense. He was even worse than Ghost defensively, and not even in sight of Ghost's point totals. His and Holl's play are the reason why the Wings defense is so bad. The top two pairs are out too long, putting in so many hard minutes defensively that they can't get much offense going, and these two are only deployed in the offensive zone, and do virtually nothing. I am not expecting anything good from Gustafson this season. Hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see that being the case.
If Copp is 2C, the season will be over after game one.
We need more goals from 23. Wings will struggle again on goals for side of things.
I just saw that Reed Larsen is available …maybe #19 should bring him back.
Gustoffsen’s role this year is to be a speed bump to ASP’s rise. Same role. When ASP is ready to come up, Eric is toast
In all of the months since he got injured, I have yet to hear anyone mention how many points Copp actually put up under McLellan. All this talk about how great he was sends very exaggerated to me. I thought he was fine, but I don't remember him turning into some kind of ideal 2C.
Copp's role includes more than offensive points or defensive stops. More importantly Copp is a leader and provides a calming attitude when things don't seem to be going good for the team. One of the most damning aspect of the team last year was mental resilience when they went into a losing streak or when the goalie wasn't stopping the pucks. He is a guy that can keep focused and optimistic in outlook and attitude. for this team that is invaluable.
Hey y'all, i figured id ask for some help here. Does anyone know of any hockey programs in south central Michigan for people in their early to mid 20s? Any help is much appreciated
welp start with breaking gretskys 215 point season from 1985-86 season would be huge for razors resume!! lol 🤷♂️🤭👍
Have Larkin, will fail.
I would like to see all players take a step forward this coming year. I don’t feel like anyone ever exceeded their expectations under Lalonde. As a matter of a fact it seems like everyone underperformed expectations under Lalonde especially the free agents. It just didn’t seem like Lalonde put players in position to really succeed. Maybe I’m high on crack (I do love smoking that shit) but I’m hopeful the coaching change makes a bigger impact than most people are expecting this coming year.
Let’s be 100% honest here… this is a joke of a roster. Now presenting everyone your top line left wing…. James Van Riemstiek
