Finally, an Islanders franchise! I’m hype for my team lol when I did an early franchise with your first roster they ended up winning the Stanley Cup in year 1 because they had a “veteran” coach (pre-coach update) so everyone that’s old and slow played out of their minds! 🤣 here are just a few suggestions/bits of information since I never really see anyone do an Islanders franchise:
I’ve seen Pelech drop more than Pulock in my experience.
Palmieri can go off. Take advantage of that and sell high.
Make room for Eiserman and Danny Nelson, they’re solid pieces for the future. Eiserman was top line for me.
Jefferies can be a player with some PP time in the A. Depth though.
I know this episode was pretty quick but if you set an offseason focus for some players (maybe the younger ones), you can have a guy like Ritchie improve faceoffs, shoot more, etc. and that could help with development. I’m sure you know that, but maybe that helps him not be a bust.
That’s really it. After the price for 1 I knew another trade for Hagens (LI native and Islanders fan) wasn’t going to happen 😂 Been a longtime viewer and can’t believe you’re doing an Isles franchise! Have fun with it and if you ever jump into a game, wear the fisherman lol

TRADE IDEA to consider:
maybe you should use Ravensbergen to get hopefully Romanov and maybe some futures back from CBJ
(Romanov is surely gonna resign and he was still only 24yo)
that way you can play Romanov at 1LD and trade Pelech for more futures, hoping for good lottery luck

There's something in the programming for the first year of a franchise mode that makes you basically a garunteed playoff team unless you literally ice an AHL team or EBUG goalies the whole year, your best odds to win the cup are the first year of the Sim aswell it seems

Hey tactix, little trick for next time. It’s significantly easier to trade for a med elite player as opposed to the #1 pick. So next time wait for them to be drafted then the trade for them and it’ll be a lot cheaper! Just a little tip for the next time you want to make the draft a little more accurate.

For the preseason focus I do conditioning and 5v5 focused alternating years, which ends up counteracting the speed lost in 5v5 focus and just slowly increases offensive and defensive awareness.
