When I started watching hockey in 1990, you could be a defensive liability as long as you had the potential to put up points and teams would continue to give you opportunities within reason to get there, even if you weren't good without the puck. Now, unless your defensive game is at least competent, you're unlikely to get the opportunity to show what you can do with the puck. Kuzmenko eventually found that out and to some degree, I think Kravtsov has had that issue, along with being a bit lazy. If he can play a sound 2 way game, he'll get his opportunities. If he starts turning the puck over in preseason, he may end up stapled to the bench almost immediately. Foote is a defence first coach, and given the situation in net and the forward group, he should be.

Someone like Miller would be a horrible leader. Guy loves to "motivate" other players. But when it comes to his own play he is extremely inconsistent and gives up on the back check way too easy. Thats why players like him are hard for others to rally behind

He never had lack of effort it’s just radio show host never make management accountable for their mistakes. They played Petterson injured for half year and screwed up his knee.
JT should've been the assistant Captain here still with Petey long gone. With that this team would have a better center and a much better player period. Petey will never be a 11 million dollar player.
