  1. If all these ratings are based on JUST last year, they mean next to nothing. The Isles suffered a massive number of games lost to IR. Horvat lost his best linemate, Barzal, for most of the season. Horvat isn't the only one. The entire forward group and the entire defense was in a blender all year due to injuries. Am I the only one who things they overachieved last year playing guys who didn't deserve to be in the NHL under normal circumstances? I know the sports mantra "It doesn't matter who is injured, it's next man up", but the Isles didn't have capable depth. Very few teams had the surplus depth to deal with the onslaught of injuries. Judging contracts based solely on a year plagued by injuries to so many key players is akin to stroking with thumb tacks glued to your girl of choice.

  2. Mayfield and engval might not be perfect, but I think they might cover their valuation, or even get better next year, who’s to say this is a bad contract

  3. How? If they trade Mayfield and JPG at the deadline that’s about 8mil? and then Anders Lee 7mil comes off the books end of year? Absolute BS.
